  1. I just see a little voer sharpening here and there (e.g. see the two little trees at top right) but otherwise is a fine capture in a tricky situation. You kept well controlled the highlights and found a nice composition.

  2. Wow, it is hard to say 300 meters, but it is obviously a great drop (more evident at the end of the canyon). You could improve the picture taking it later, when the lower sun light (I assume it is an afternoon picture) enhances the volume of the cliffs. I like composition (I'm unsure how you could improve this, maybe placing the bush more at right?) and especially color.

I would like to see some more of the shaft of the columns, but other than that, I think that you composed really well a not-so-easy shot. The light enhances the stucco of the wall.

    Ciao.

    Village

I think that you made a very good shot, with the side lighting enhancing the presence of the village and rendering the mountains with a kind of 3D look. composition is ok, too, with the green foliage in the foreground balances well the dark area at right. Due to the little size of the houses, larger version looks far better.

The bright and clean colors, as well as the shadow on the grass, give this shot a "pictorial" look that instantly reminds me of some René Magritte's paintings, and creates a surreal impression on my mind.

The fact that clouds can be seen through the leaves of the tree (contrary to trees with a more exuberant foliage) really adds to the crystal-clear look of the shot.

    A very succeeded shot, imho.

Sorry, but it is not bad. Has good tonal range, sense of depth and a nice composition that makes the eyes go through that dark valley towards the escaping way at left (I think that the clouds help a lot for this). Try again ;)

As Arjen writes, it is clearly overexposed (but there is still good tones in the face) and the composition would have better balance by leaving (as usual) some more room in the side the subject is looking at (in this situation a "classic" composition approach is to take advantage of the diagonal arm). Said that, you got the moment perfectly, and that is enough to make the picture.

    Hi, Manir.

I like the sense of motion given by the two men walking in opposite directions, and the contrast between straight lines and human figures. Perhaps avoiding the a vertical shot keeping the two men within the frame would have been more effective, but, as you present it here, it is a clear composition that says a lot. BTW, what are these men carrying?

    Nice to see you back.

    Hello, Alexander.

It is indeed nice to have a background like that infinite-looking steppe, but it gives more "great spaces" than "flying" feel. Really this situation has many potential shootings, rather than a wrong/right approach.

Just note that, if you want to express motion, diagonal lines are preferred to horizontal and vertical ones. In a similar way, the bike-jumpers (I just don't know the right word for these people) use to rotate the front wheel to give a sense of dynamism.

    Greetings.

Nice action shot, Alexander. You could add more dynamism trying a diagonal horizon, a panning (could be difficult to achieve!) or shooting from a lower point of view.

Has a wonderful pictorial quality that I like, as the composition and the juxtaposition of straight lines in different orientations. The missing part in the trees looks bizarre.

I like this one much better than colour version. Usually I don't like front out-of-focus elements, but it looks nice in this one.

If you want some suggestion, you could try searching a more assymetric layout or diagonal orientation to add dynamism to the composition.

Nice scene, well captured and perfect timing to get the most out of the beach, water and the boy at left. As minor criticisms, it seems to be slightly slanted (or maybe the coastal line in background is fooling me), and I would prefer a little more contrast.

A very nice abstract, and the frame enhances the look of the picture. As for the picture itself, I think there is some colour noise in the bottom-left area. Perhaps it is worth trying in black and white.

    Welcome to photo.net. That's a good start.

A very portrait, full of interest. I like especially the composition, both the slanted face and the rather tight framing, which gives a feel of mental strength.

I'm not sure about sharpness. Some zones look too sharp for my taste.

Congratulations, amir! Your picture has fantastic composition and timing, I wonder how you managed to get it, and it is really original. I would like to see it on a white wall, but I guess I'm asking too much.

    Salam, Saeed.

I like very much lighting and face expression. Maybe you could have done something better with their hands, they seem to be too big (too short focal length?).

    Greetings.

It truly would look better with a little more space at the bottom and less at left, but if you couldn't change that, I would only suggest zooming in (if possible) to give more size to the bottom trees. Contrast and colour is great.

As for the subject, is needed a change in our (Western Europe and US) way of life, and it has to be achieved soon.

I like very much this picture: the reflections on the pavement, the S-shaped sidewalk border and the two people placement (were they lightened by a car or something alike?). Is that Northern Spain? It looks like a street in a Basque or Cantabrian town.

    Salam, Mohamad.

What a beautiful picture! It is an unusual and original composition, with the body, head and arm so close to the border of the image, but I like it very much. I would like to see how it looks in pure B&W. Very well posed, too.

  3. Love the way in which lights get more compressed as you look at the upper left corner. Despite being steady cars (I guess), gives a nice feel of movement. Great caption, too. Did you think about making a "red lights" rear version?
