Hi Patrick,
I like how you mixed these very different elements: steel, water and fog. nice composition. well done. 6/6

"Incidentally, many of the people in the background are not silhouettes, but rather show a lot of detail. Isn't that strange?"
Above being said by the elves, what I actually find strange is to keep comparing apples with oranges when comes to dealing with traditional film photography versus digital images + post processing.
this picture is a beautifull work of art but I cannot give the artist the appreciation he deserves because we are stuck in this energy-draining discussion forum where we are all considered alike.
Why don't the elves make a distinction and introduce separate sections for say "traditional photography" and "digital art" (this is just a suggestion in absence of better terms) thus avoiding futile discussions.
If each side would have their own area people could actually focus on quality rather than what system is better.

found this on a test-roll done with an old camera and optics. what do
you think. re-submitting due to low quality scan. thanks

"You don't know her. But once you look at this photo you know her a little."
I agree with your statement, this portrait talks to you, very good expression however I'm not happy with your choice of framing the subject. I would place the subject a bit up and to the right thus showing less of the clothing and focus more on the lively face. but this IMHO. 5/6
cheers

In a gallery I would take few steps back to get the right perspective;
Here I looked at the thumbnail first and noticed the subject is very well placed, off-center and it has just the right amount of space around it. Definitively the slight burning towards the margins is a nice touch. Some one says it looks like a photo that sells at Pier 1. IMHO there is nothing wrong if this picture has commercial value beside the artistic one. Well done. 6/7

Great capture, great composition and color.
If I would face such a landscape I would wait for a light event to happen. In my vision the water should glow more. but that's me.
Congrats for a wonderful shot. 6/6
