I agree with Angela. Great DOF and detail but looks like the white point needs to be moved. Here's my stab at it. Used a curves layer too.

I agree that this gives a real feel of intimacy, and I probably like the higher contrast better, but honestly I'm not sure. I like the subtleness of the original. In any case, it's a great pic.
