<p>I gave a friend a Canon EOS 5D camera that I hadn't used in awhile, and heard back that its mirror fell off during use. He wants to repair it.<br> <br /> Are there any decent repair shops you'd recommend - or better yet, any instructions for fixing this (known by Canon) problem?<br> <br /> Thanks for any advice or redirects.</p>

I posted this image for the Travel Photo contest here on PN a few months ago, with no success nor even any response. But given the new contest category "Story Behind The Story", I had to try again. This is the South Pole, where all the world's time zones meet, on the first day of the year 2000. Thanks for any feedback!

I ducked into an alley in a Mauritius town to change out some camera gear so my entire lens collection wouldn't be publicly displayed on the main street. There I came across this graffiti, with the late afternoon light falling perfectly upon the scene to place the creepy faceless man in ominous shadow. I sized up the shot through my camera and waited, praying for someone interesting to come along. And luckily for me, about ten minutes later these three sisters innocently idled through. It was my only success that whole day. -
