I installed it when I had it, I uninstalled it when I sold it, it dont really damage anything. go for it
-
I use a piece of black gaffers tape
-
be sure there is a lens attached, and the lens is autofocus.
-
buy the batterygrip, and you wont need the door !
-
or mount the lens to the monopod.
-
its personal. Can I get by with the EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III USM or even EF 28-200mm f/3.5-5.6 USM? Homesty requested.
can you ? but all and test them out. only you can be the judge

oh you will have better results with the collar, its just more stable.
-
according to your specfics, the rebel xt will do you just fine.
-

I dunno, but I am very satisfied with my lenses ( eos ). I took a half frame from a digital rebel jpeg, and made a 16x20, and it was stunning !

OK, too many lenses going on here.
I think what this keen learner wants to learn is photography.
I think photography is not equipment. It is the art of photography. To stand at a scene, to decide where to shoot with which lenses, for which effect he wants, wether or not to have the bokeh, from which angle he wants, and subject distance and so forth. getting the 17-85 zoon is the lazy way out, to just go there, not think of anything, look in the viewfinder and zoom around and press the shutter.
The best beginners lense to learn from was the 50 1.8. standard. Stand back for wide, walk up for tele, 1.8 for indoors where light is low, he will learn to steady the camera with his body, instead of relying on the IS, there is so much the standard 50 can teach someone.
but since 1.6x, get the 28mm.
1 gig card is alot if jpegs.
spare battery is not necessary as one usually last you all day
lens cloth - Dust on the front element dont effect picture quality
polariing filter - too advanced for a beginner, walk first, run later
UV filter - maybe, if you bang your lenses alot
this is how I started in multi purpose photography:
I got the 50mm
for portraits I walk up closer to people
for landscapes, I go as far back as I can, or take a series of photos with a tripod and paste them together
for macros, I got a set of magnify filters, allows close focus
photojournalism, 50 is mack dab in the middle of 28-80, a bit of walking isnt hard
night shots - 50 works well in low light
telephoto shots, the 50 is so great in quality, I crop and have the telephoto effect.
anyway... I suggest getting one prime standard lens now, the rebates will be on for a while, after you learn more photography, you may decide on a lens that suits your style.
good luck

perfume ?

WOW, radio slave for 30 bucks, I'm looking right now !
I have the wein, but that is because I used it on the elan. Still have it so I still use it. it isnt that much more expensive anyway.
-
I would think that the flash is fried.
have you used the flash for many many many shots in a row ? flashes arent designed for long extended long really long uses.
option, use a speedlite, so the ocf wont come into the equation at all
-
I got the sigma super and is very happy

Unless you are strapped for cash, Id say KEEP THEM, because you had them since new, so you wont ever get one that you can trust at the price you are selling it now.
Eventually you will regret selling them, so just keep them. wont cost you a dime to keep them.
-
Just shook mine, yep, it moves, you fine.
-
sell the 300 and the 28 135, and go for the 2 better lens, and rebel xt. ( rebates )
-
Mike, for your girlfriend, REBEL XT ! so small perfect for women !
-
That is just the funniest. Oddly, the rebel xt's noise DOES sound fake !
-
wow, imagine if canon did all that ! and made the package small enough to fit in a shirt pocket wouldnt that be.... oh powershot.
-
that most likey it. or, maybe the battery contacts are dirty, and the shake and slap of the pop up flash jolts the battery due to the low power spring therefore disconnecting the power source for a moment ?
-
I can only guess also, as I never had either die in my grip as one was canon and one was a higher mah aftermarket.
I guess that it is the same as putting one half charged battery in with a full one. more Mah just means it holds more.

Ok seriously... 70-200 L's
F4 $ 600
F2.8 $ 1150
F2.8 IS. $ 1700
If they do add in a F4L IS, it would be priced at 850. it would fit in nicely. but then who would buy that, when you can get the 2.8 for 250 more ?
2005 Canon rebate
