  1. I need some help. So, here's what happened:

I sent a submission to MOUNTAIN BIKING magazine and they used one of

my images. No problem with that. They will pay and intend to do so,

however, they lost the slide. So, I talked to the Editor and he

apologizes and gives me the info for getting in touch with the

    Publisher (Challenge Publications) http://www.challengeweb.com/.

I contacted the Publisher and left messages and emails to no avail.

I invoiced him $1500 (standard fee) for the lost slide. No answer

still. I sent a final notice that I was going to file small claims.

Now, I need to know how to file small claims across the border (I am

Canadian and they are American)? Does anyone know? I will be

contacting my lawyer but I'd rather figure out as much as possible

    myself first.

Any help would be appreciated. I would also warn anyone against

submitting to this magazine or it's sister publication FLOW. If a

Publisher is not willing to pay up for a lost slide then who knows

what kind of shady business can happen. Be aware, Be very aware.

  2. Thanks everyone, I'm aware VPS is a negative film but negative film is very X-

processable into slide. I have made "slide" images with negative films many

times before. Its just more fickle. Anyway, I've seen some great examples of

VPS being used to get a really contrasty effect with crazy colour shifts. If

anyone has any info I would really appreciate it. Thanks again for the input!

  3. I recently bought a bunch of VPS 160 with intent to cross process it and make

funky slide images. I was originally told to push it two stops in development. I

did that and it came out alot bluer than I wanted. I'm going to try a roll at three

stops push, two in camera and one in development. Has anyone here used

VPS cross processed? If so, what's your magic formula? Thanks in advance!
