  1. Thanks Stacy,

I'm actually thinking about redoing my page; I just think that I'm going to put less of the "antique color" images and more b&w and color. People seem not too crazy about that; I get too little interest in that particular way of printing. Although, I love it!

Anyway, just wanted to say that I really like your work, very simple, classy... Love it!

  2. Ok, yeah, not well at all, everyone has a different opinion! Ok, maybe specific photos? Best according to your preference? I don't think I have much to choose from the site so job should be easy (I'm not even going into choosing something from other photographs that are not on the site - its just too much). I want to have best photos, but variety of them, yet they somehow have to go together. Anybody wants to give it a shot?
  3. I have various memory cards - different brands and my D70 each time

allows to record different amount of pictures - in the fine JPG on a

2gb sometimes I get to shoot 400 sometimes 800 pictures before an

error message comes on and if I reach the end of card with 400 or 10

pictures left it always comes on and stops me from further shooting-

it's frustrating and unpredictable. It can not be a problem with

the cards since they are all different brands but with the camera.

Has anybody experienced such a problem? Is there a solution? What

can be wrong? Any advice? I know it's a technical problem with the

camera rather than subject that has to do with wedding photography

but this is the forum I read the most and I know people here have

enough knowledge to help me out! Please

  4. Ok, I need a low budget (and I mean low budget) album like Pioneer

type, white (best with opening for a picture on the cover) with

clear 11x14 slip pockets so I can design the pages myself and just

pop it in. I found nice ones in 12x12 but pictures that size are 2x

more expensive to print and I can't afford for their budget. I

found even nicer ones in 8x10 but the bride wants something bigger.

Silly but anyone have any solutions, help?

  5. NADINE,

If you could make that list it would be of great help. One more question, the groom requested a picture of them exchanging the rings from the front (of them), not that he would expect me to shoot over the Priest?s shoulder ? I hope. Where to be while trying to get the best shoot?

  6. Thank you guys! I've already called the church, they said they will send me the info pamphlet which I did not yet get (maybe today? I hope), the person answering the phones briefly told me the rules, this is not about the rules of the church, this is about your rules guys. The couple is veryyy laid back (they lost the pamphlet that I was to get info from). The church seems "ok" as well, not many restrictions, just respect and quietness.

My question was meant to get YOUR experience and YOUR pointers and YOUR approaches while shooting during a ceremony.

  7. Ok, may be silly but! I'm shooting a ceremony in a Roman Catholic

Church, don't ask why but I'm terrified. I know the rules, I can

use flash, I can be pretty much everywhere but! I just don't know

how to go about it, where to be/stand not to interrupt and seem

invisible as much as possible. All previous ceremonies were at the

same place as reception, this seemed more relaxed and I had no

problem shooting but this is my first time shooting in a church. I

need some help, reassurance, tips on where to shoot from, how to

seem invisible. I know it should be just the same as shooting a

ceremony in any place but my own strict upbringing of being quiet

and invisible while attending a church ceremony comes in my way. Am

    I crazy? Help.

  8. Paul, I will definitely try out your idea as I will be trying out thing in the next days.

Nadine, yes, I?ve tried to shoot in cloudy and flash mode inside in a wedding reception when the room was prepared for a wedding (which I had nothing to do with? I was just testing the camera since I was there checking out the location) and yes, the pictures are very warm in the cloudy and very cold in the flash mode ? too blue!

    John, thanks for the link.

Somebody replied that 900 shots is a lot for a wedding, but with film, the people I know shoot 500-1000 and with digital the brides request more and more pictures taken, I myself went up to as much as 800 (film wise).

  9. Jammey, Thank you for your thoughts, you guys are persuading me pretty good I must admit! :)

***regarding memory cards; I've read on other boards that there's not really a difference between the slower and faster cards (lexar 40x vs 80 or scandisk vs. ultra scandisk) how about in wedding photography and now that you've mentioned RAW ;)****

  10. This will all be inside, both church which will allow me to use flash and reception ? it will be on ttl mode since I?m to nervous about the whole thing. From others I?ve heard that some set their WB to ex. cloudy with the flash because it produces warmer effects. I guess it?s a matter of preference and knowledge hence the question to you guys.
  11. Nadine,

I will be shooting film in the most important phases just as I?ve mentioned as back up. I?m sorry about not being specific enough, question about the batteries was; would the lithium ones be enough as a back up for the day? How many shots/hours of continuous work do they last?

I?m pretty confident with my D70 but in studio work, a wedding is a whole different story!

  12. Paul, well thank you for your answer, however, I forgot to mention that this client

prefers JPEG?s (that was kind of future question as I have 3 other digital weddings), he will be doing his own post processing?

  13. 1) White balance question: Should I measure white balance once while in a specific room (ex. Reception) or at times I move within the specific room? What I mean is do I need to measure the WB only once, as I read in previous posts when entering a room or just go with Auto WB?

    2) Battery life; what is the best way to back up? Couple of rechargeable batteries or CR2?s will be enough as a back up? Both the camera and flash?11am to 7pm time frame

    3) That?s about it, for now :) Seems much simpler doesn?t it ?

  14. Ok, so I have been reading posts for some long time now, they were

all along very helpful, the change form film into digital made me

seek your advice ?in person?. I?m actually freaking out after

reading all the posts that converting into digital is not as easy as

    it sounds. I have D70, sb-800, 17-55 2.8, 50 1.8 and 70-200 2.8.

Back up gear is film. Of course I?m not listing the cables, the

brackets etc. For this wedding I won?t use any strobes (it?s a low

    budget, someone I know).

I will be shooting JPEG ? yes- I know I should shoot RAW but I

figure out of 3x 1Gig cards I?ll get ? 300 pictures in raw as in

jpeg- 900 which are tripling my chances. Am I totally wrong about

taking more pictures to choose from vs. less and easier to fix?

White balance question seems odd to me as well, should I measure wb

just as I shoot in one room or should I measure every time I move

within the room, I?ve read somewhere that people only measure once

while in a specific room (location) but that does not make much

    sense to me.

Second question is the battery life, should I get r rechargeable

    (high performance 2300mAh Ni-MH) batteries as back-up?

How about the camera battery? Should I have at lest two sets of

    rechargeable?

My time is from 11 am to 7pm.

I?ve used D70 for portrait session which is so much different and

less demanding as a whole day wedding. I?ll be shooting some film

as back up since I?m so much more comfortable with it!

Please advise as much as you can!

  15. Ok, for the 100th time- white balance- soon will be my first digital

wedding? I thought I would feel at ease with digital rather than

film yet that?s not the case

I read most of the earlier replies, but how can I get consistency in

the color while on the run? Do I meter off of white each time I

move? Seems dreadful to me! Shall I just go safe and do auto WB? I

just recently made the switch to digital, can anybody point me to

any info, or explain to me what I fear and are my fears reasonable?

I shoot JPEG not RAW. Thanks
