    Fly Portrait

Hi Ken, basically I took an old manual focus Canon 50mm f1.4 lens and mounted it onto the end of the Canon 100mm lens (two lens combined). It's very difficult to shoot with this type of setup because the DOF is paper thin. For more information about this reverse lens technique, check out this thread and this thread. The second link is a very good one.

Another attempt at the Canon FD 50mm 1.4 mounted in reverse onto the

Canon 100mm Macro lens. This shot was handheld and manual focus. I

think I'm getting better but still haven't perfect the technique

    yet. Thanks for your advice!

    A Frog Prince

Thanks everyone for stopping by and for your kind words and ratings. I have a confession to make...actually, it's more like a FYI than a confession. This photo was actually taken by my wife. I think this shot was pefect, but I wasn't sure if most of you like it or not (that why I didn't mention her name). I think I will upload a portrait of the princess that captured this frog prince (I just have to get her permission first).

  1. I shot it with my Canon 100-400 lens at first (got very nice background, but the dragon wasn't sharp enough). It looked at me and smiled but didn't fly away...So I grabbed my 100mm Macro lens and tried to get closer...and this is what I ended up with. Thanks for your input!
