One tip... The visual element in this picture is texture. Always keep in mind the display size in order for texture to be appreciated. In this picture, in order to enhance the visual appeal of texture, I would crop it just below the valve, and have it printed at 8x10 minimum. Having it so long (narrow), in my opinion, dilutes the visual appeal.

Ok, you want critique, here it goes... As a picture, content, etc., this image doesn?t do much for me, but it provides a good starting point for a lesson, so to speak. This is a good idea but it lacks strength. One way to solve this issue would have been to get closer to the red bouy and have it occupy more space, give it more scale over the people in the background. In a few words, a technique is to exagerate the scale of smaller object in comparison to larger objects. Example, take a picture od an apple and have it be twice as big as a humam. Go over visual elements such as texture, form (volume), contour, color, rythm, scale, perspective, etc., and then of course, the most difficult one: symbolic value or meaning. Good luck!!!
