Yeah! I was surprised today to see my D 76 revert to pale yellow today...So that could explain it...
-
Good day, I've found a 3 year old un opened packet of D76 in my uni
darkroom cupboard just a week ago and mixed up all the contents into
the stock solution.
I'm just curious..how do I test the film developer to see whether it
still works and hasn't pooped out?
The colour of developer is still horse urine yellow...

Well, I got Plus X to work very nicely when I souped it in 1:100 at ISO 64, but that iso is abit low to work with handheld. I think I just have to restrict to using a tripod and go along with compensating development all the way since the agfa contrast index seems abit much..
-
Hello, I've recently added Plus X to my repeitore of films, but I'm
currently having problems with its inherent high contrast. I noticed
if I even over exposed by 1 stop, all the highlights gets massively
blocked.
I use rodinal (1:25) for most of the stuff, as I like to standardized
dilutions all across the board for most of my films, but due to this
film characteristic, I thought of perhaps diluting the dev up to 1:50
or 1:100 to control highlights and reduce the contrast.
Any thoughts on this? (P.S: I need to utilize the film at it's
current box iso, otherwise I'll be wincing for shutter speed..)

Damn I hate flatbeds! M6+ 50 Summitar.

Thanks to all those suggestions for helping me find a darkroom. I did
find one, but those wise guys decided to shift my pictures to a
window is some place that looks like alcatraz (Micro bio building).
Well, you can't win them all...
-
I am in Sydney Uni *@@*
Yup, happily shut down the darkroom for a while.
I'll try UNSW, but I doubt the student unions nowadays are that friendly *laugh*

Hey guys, have an emergency here.
Me and two other guys have an exhibition dead line to hold in our
university by this week. However, in their infinite wisdom, they
decided to close the darkroom last minute so we're both left in limbo.
(It's funny..they cite security reasons but actually it's one of their
staff members who lost the extra key..).
So the main thing is, anybody knows a good place to rent a dark room
in sydney? The only place I figured out is ACP, and they were charging
an exorbitant rate of $12 an hour for students on top of the $30
registration fee..

Damn! That's some color! I just got one off ebay, the second version..now I just need to start hunting for a hood...
Looks like this lens would make a great add on!
-
Well, it's still smaller than the 135 elmarit I had once..so I'm willing to live with that :). Gee...we're talking about US$ here?!
-
Hey thanks guys! I think I'm sold on it..looks like even more OOF than the 90 f4 elmar that I'm having. By the way, how easy is to get the original hood for the tele elmar? I noticed alot of them are selling without the original hood.
-
Erm, the difference I think is not very apparent with those aperture numbers. Open them up wide and take pictures, I believe that's when one can tell 1 lens from the other.
-
Ello, I'm considering of extending my lens package with a 135 tele
elmar, but after reading the reviews on the lens (Yes,it's tack
sharp, that's been repeated a 100 and 1 times), I am more concerned
about it's OOF rendering (bokeh), as if I do get a 135 , it'll be
more for up close (portrait/e.g. body part) shots, where the
background has to be pretty much on the OOF side but the subject is
tack sharp (like the 50 1.4 summilux).
The only reason why I'm would be eye-ing this lens would be it's
small compact size. Otherwise, I'll be pretty happy having a hektor
or elmarit.
I couldn't find any pictures of the tele elmar being used up to its
full aperture..perhaps you guys could fill me in?
-
Well I could yes..but right now my darkroom went off limits to students for some reason..going to hammer the guy in charge of it tomorrow..cheers!

-
MMMM..that's a pretty clear explanation. Now at least I know what's going on..thanks!
-
Note: the pictures have been taken along a dim stage, with iso 3200 reading of : f2, 1/60 sec (if taken with standard iso, it would translate into f 1.4 1/15 secs)

Hi all, I've been having problems utilizing my Tri X film of late with
my old standby HC110. I've had no problems pushing the film by 1-2
stops, but when I shot a series of rolls of a jazz night, I noticed
that my exposed highlights-midtones developed nicely , but all the
shadow/shadow details have all been eliminated!
I've tried developing in 24C, but still no luck. Posted here is the
results, and I hope that you guys could help you out!

I have one of these, second version 50 summilux. Mint versions are pretty damn expensive (and extremely hard to find). It's my workhorse lens for now, and I got it with just a few marks on the chrome. I reckon the used ones on the market are much more economical if money's an issue *grin* Just a picture!<div></div>

Nikonos V: Focus-ing question
in Nikon
Posted
Hey, I'm planning to take up surfing or the likes of that so I'm
considering picking up a Nikonos V to take photographs of my trip abroad.
However, for some reason the web pages about the camera seemed to
confuse each other whether the nikonos is a view finder or range
finder camera.
Is there anyway to focus this camera at all without using the DOF
markers or guess estimating?
