  1. Eric: it's okay, you can say what you want. I just need to infer a little that's all.

That's why I didn't want to mention memorial service. It gives people the wrong impression.

And as for the technical side, I really done the best I could. I can't afford the stuff to get the monitor calibrated (hell, I can't even afford an enlarger yet and have to rely on someone's darkroom to process film/prints and all on my own), and I have a laptop, not a desktop so it tends to brighten pics up a lot. And since I'm going to australia to study, I need all the cash I got for my education and will have to make do with whatever I have.

Sorry if my pics seemed rather murky technically and all that , I know that myself too whenever I looked through somebody'e else's screen, but I can only do whatever I can to improve the situation.

  2. Lee: even if most of them are indonesian dead, there's still plenty of those who have relatives in indonesia. You should know these people turned up with their own free will.

If it is not right, and perhaps if you don't care, let me emphasize this..how would you feel if you lost a family member in this natural disaster and society as a whole don't seem to care about any of your loss? By the way, the US also lost quite a number of their citizenship overall too.

By the way, I happen to think our society sucks as a whole here.

  3. "but i'm curious why you have the impression that this place is like your photo album and everything you shoot gets posted?"

Is that a crime?I don't shoot as well as you do, ( by the way , I think your photos are really great), and you find my photos boring, but I believe I have every right like everyone here to post photos. If you think I'm looking for adulation or acceptance of any sort, well let's rest it here, I'm not. I'm just here to learn.

If I just post a photo once in a while , it may just not show any trend of mistakes/or anything I'm doing right that could be better improved/corrected.

Secondly, I said I wished I didn't mention the memorial service because now everybody expects me to take pictures of weeping victims or pictures of strong emotions. I taken this base on the fact of human behaviour, and the response to it. I have those, but I'd rather wait till this period has pass as doing so may prove insensitive at the moment..

Thirdly, and lastly of all, perhaps you could tell me why they're boring? starting with the first.

  4. Yeah, I think it's more on my post process technique again. I think I'll just simply post it in gray scale and do just curves and levels..not more than that. Other than that I notice that while some pictures look ok on some monitors it looks terrible on others...
