I have the 400D with the 17-40 F4L and the 70-200 F4L. Both seem to be great lens. I take scenics, an occasional wedding and misc. Next up will be the 24-105 most likely. While I'd love to have 2.8 lens, between cost and weight, I am satisfied with good F4's.

Get a manual winder and it will handle like a big manual 35mm.
-
You don't need it. I take mine off to use with the manual grip and when the grip is off I just use the little stub that is there, much faster than trying to fold and unfold a winding crank.
-
I set mine up for continuous numbering. All I have to do is take a shot and see what the file name is. Now somewhere down the road I'll have to do some addition.
-
If the frames are not overlapping then I don't see a problem. The way you wind can make a difference in the frame spacing as can how tight you start the film when first windingon a new roll. Is it doing this with multiple backs or just one?

I don't like taking the CF card in and out. I just connect the USB cable and kickoff the download. May take a couple minutes but I have plenty to do while its transfering the files. Like browsing PN! If I fill up a CF card and swap it out during a session, then it goes in the card reader.

How bout putting your camera in the 200 bag and then put it in the backpack. Then you will have the camera and the 200 bag when you arrive.
-
I think the bag your asking about is the one I use for my medium format stuff. The camera sites at the top and can have a fairly large lens attached. You only have to unzip the bag at the top to remove th e camera.

The flash will produce most of the light indoors. If you want the background dark then pick a fast shutter speed. If you want to pick up some of the ambient light in the background then pick a slow speed. I like to think of it as taking 2 separate pics at the same time, the aperture setting = flash setting are used to take the pic of the main subject. The shutter speed along with the already set aperture is used to take the pic of the background.

The 75 is the standard, equiv to a 50mm on 35 and the 150 is the portrait lens, equiv to a 100mm on 35.

go rent a 6X7 with a wide lens

You should get TTL, I just use mine on Auto and put the camera on F8 in manual mode. Then I think I know what I'm doing.
-
Why not just ask them who will be doing the repair.
-
Sounds like maybe the hit very slightly distorted something in the lens mechanism, and was causing a slight bind or rubbing in the focus area. After a few passes the parts that were rubbing against each other finally smoothed out and function is now about normal.

The filler is just there to help lock it down since there seems to be a little excess room. You may have to loosen the locknut a little more to rotate to the other perspective.

THE part you are referring to does not come with the tripod, at least it didn't come with my 3021. And the book doesn't mention it for your model either. I simply went to a hardware store and bought an eye bolt to screw into the threaded hole at the top of the legset, If this is too big for the clip on your strap then also get a large keyring while at the hardware store to go between the eyebolt and the strap end. You can also get a nut to fit the eyebolt to use as a jam nut to position the eye for best attachment of the sling.

I use the Sunpack equivalent, the 383. Works fine. It even works on my 400d in manual mode.

56X42, 56X56, 56X69.5, 56X76, 56X84, not sure about the 4X5

Just got 2 rolls of 6x45 C41 back from E-6 here in Atlanta, $43.00 for process, proofs and low res scans and thumbnail scans. $5.50 per roll process, $.65 per proof and I think it was $5.00 for scan 1st roll, $2.00 for additionals rolls scanned. Several pro/wedding/school labs not longer process 120/220 but will still scan and print.

If you can't get the subject farther from the background, then you can use an off-camera flash to put light on the background to ovepower the shadows.
-
You said "With adapter mounted he can trigger the strobes with "test" button, so the adapter and the cable are ok too." Where is the test button? on the flash or on the adapter?
-
push on things have a tendency to fall off after awhile. Why not just purchase another uv filter being sure is a thin and has front threads, then you can do as you wish and just leave it on permanently
-
TOO dark maybe?
-
I did that with my first roll in my ETRSi. I simply rewound it back on the original spool in a dark bag and reused it. I now always remember to put the film in what appears backwards.
