Hi all
A friend of mine is offering one of his lenses for 120.00 dolar. It
is the Tamron SP90mm 2.5 AF. I realized that this lens is not the one
that I always see in many websites. It has a very thin focusing ring
at the end of the barrel, may be the previous (or old--but AF)
version. My question is whether or not the sharpness is close enough
if not similar to the new Di or whatever they call it. Anybody have
ever had this version?
Is it a good or at least an OK offer. In the mean time I don't have
any other micro/macro lens except the 55mm 3.5 that I use for copy
works. I don't really need the speed as might have been offered by
new Tamrons. I intend to use this for flower insect or etc.
OOps --forgot to say that my camera that I want to use it with the F5
and F4s.
Any suggestion or comments?

here is what Florida has to offer.

Agree with Lex...N6006's built-in flash is surprisingly good indoor...clear picture, even for telephoto...
I believe you are an amateur, so I suggest using cheap film from Walmart Fuji Super HQ ISO 100 or 200, 4 rolls a pack for less than 5 dollars. You"ll see the different.

I would pay no more than US$40.00.

Now, I have got the answer. So, hot because of the Ken Rockwell's review. I came across folks here who said Ken's review is "rubbish" (looking for a nicer word), seems that they were quite wrong, this guy has affected the market, I suppose..Look at this, US$375 today on Ebay item #: 3878697422

I saw many times lately that this lens has been a hot item on Ebay. I
had this 2 years ago but the price was just below US$100. Yesterday I
saw one, excellent ++, I guess, was sold for almost US$400.00 with
may bidders. Why this lens is such a hot item nowadays, definitely
more expensive than the that the 70-300 D ED?

I bought an F100, but was kept thinking of the pro level F5. After disappointed with the back door, and the film sprocket (or you might call it something else), I sold the F100.
F100-picture quality is good...build quality is poor
Good luck

Thanks for all the answers, may be I"ll consider the suggestion from Dave to buy the battery tester.
Thanks all, enjoy shooting.

Thanks for the respond. Yes, eveything works except that particular feature---battery check..anyone had ever had the same problem or had it fixed?
Thanks

Hi, I just bought a used MD-4. Everything works except that when I
push the battery-check button, the two LEDs will not light up--
nothing. The other one on the right side will however light up only
when the film reaches the end AND will blink at every shot...Any
suggestion or answer to this problem?
Thanks in advance

So it will not have the "US" wording before the serial numbers as we could see on other Nikons?
-
I think it is a simple question, however I tried GOOGLE but could not
find the answer. How do you check if the Nikon F5 is a US version or
not? Thanks in advance.
-
It looks abstract though, like a monster or a dog behind the kid...eh?
I suggest you buy a roll of electrical black tape...tape around the back door and shoot, if this "thing" is gone, you just have to replace the seals.
Good luck

Hi, I don't hear any motorized sound as you mentioned. Is that because of the motor is broken? Initially the distance indicator will change accordingly when I zoom the lens, however after focusing, it will disappear and the bars then appear. This is in Program mode on the camera. When switched to aperture priority mode the distance indicator changes accordingly to the lens zoom selected. So, saperture or shutter priority will work ok?

Hi, I just got a Nikon SB-24 flash that I use with my F4. However,
the auto zoom display will only be there/displayed shortly after
turning ON the flash. After focusing the camera OR releasing the
shutter, it will disappear and only show two bars instead
of "35mm"/"85mm" etc. Is this normal or something wrong here? Hope to
hear from your answers. Thanks a lot in advance.

Thanks for the answer, I got the online manual, which I feel pretty good, so I"ll wait for the lens to proceed..
Thanks gain

I tried pushing the shutter button, both buttons(w/out lens), and nothing happened...is that because the lens was not attached?

Hi, I just got an C330f body form Ebay but still waiting for the lens
to come. Meanwhile, I need to test whether or not the body is working
fine, so that I could return it if anything wrong...The question is
what are the important things to look at? Light seal? Prism? How
about tripping the shutter release lever, is that possible without a
lens, how do I know the shutter release is good? Ho to test if the
rewind lever is working?
Hope to hear

Gerald, the autofocusing is fine and the exposure and sharpness in the two other metering modes are perfect.
I asked NikonUSA about the estimate but they said couldn't give any. ANy rought estimate?
-
Gerald, I took off the v/f and see that the tiny LCD just show "LO". I compare with another body that shows shutter speeds varying upon the light intensity. So you guys think it is a problem in the body?

I tried cleaning the contacts for the viewfinder (on the body)but nothing change...
Thanks for the tip...any more ideas?

I have a problem with my F4E (series # 25XXXXX. The spot metering
does not
work(matrix and center weighted are ok), regardless of the light and
aperture setting, it will show "LO" in the view finder.....
borrowing another prism finder DP-20 won't solve it. still the
problem is there. Anybody has encountered the same problem...any
idea..?
Thanks in advance

Thanks for all the suggestions, probably as Russ stated, mine needs to visit a doctor. Seems that changing shutter speed and putting in film do not solve the problem..
