I always though he was not very nice to those who try not to sound pompous. Myself i think he was a very fine photographer genuis i will pass on; art was always his first love from what i understand. He certainly produced enough work to keep commercial interests very happy for a long time. How much for any HCB photograph

winced when others called him a genuis doesnt mean it wasnt true.

If it was a level playing field then, like it is now, would HCB be so highly regarded?

The icon worshippers will look into his work, and make up little stories, to sate their needs for a hero. It was always a wonder to him.

Is it? you must be on the wrong forum.There are actual photographers here who's interests extend beyond just gear. The first word is Leica, the other word is Photography. Photography being the longer word.

The reality is money does not grow on trees, and there is no shame in not owning a Leica. It's your eye that is the most important thing, not whether you own a Leica.

 

Sound advice Claude you are a man of character and wisdom. If only more on this forum had your deep insight and understanding.

At least they post pixs unlike most forums.It's the ability to use a scanner effectively which will decide how good they look on screen.

The vast majority of posts are gear related, with a few W/NW. It would seem that some cannot get enough gear talk. General of topic or humor posts are condemned, and discussions about photography and photographs are frowned upon. You only have read the posts of Jim Mc Brides posts to reach those conclusions.

Interesting thread, something to do with actual photography. Pleasant that some can read past the the word Leica. Perhaps gentleman Jim should take note. His continued moaning is most tiresome.

Try a noise reduction program like Noise Ninja. Noise is a problem, but there are ways to fix it. Similarly, enlargement may be a problem for very big prints or small crops, but there are programs to help with that as well, like Genuine Fractals. These programs, along with Photoshop, are the equivalent of a well-equipped darkroom, and they cost around the same or less.

 

Most photographers would be aware of these programs. Did i say photographers?

But is it too much to bloody ask that if you want to post a non-Leica photograph in this forum, that you say so

 

Why does it matter so much to you? It can't be that a monitor will reveal any particular qualities.
