  1. Mr. Bridges, you and the other high school kids at the drugstore should realize that the machine you're operating works by scanning the negatives and then spits out digital prints.

Mr.Klap, you and the other old retired dudes should realize that is where the vast majority of film users go to have their negs proccessed and printed. They would be a lot better of using digital having complete control over their work.

The stink of chemicals and the size of grain on different films along with the good old days i leave to you old timers to mutter and murmer about.

  2. Canon/Nikon have spent a lot of marketing money convincing consumers of the more pixels the better the dream. They will not allow Sony to high jack this marketing. Remember how disappointed many people were that the 30D had only 8mp. Nikon was quick to re act with 10mp D200 and now Sony is on the same bandwagon. Anti shake,10mp, dust cleaning, Zeiss lenses, and half the price of the Nikon D200.

I think Geoff is on the button with his post.

  3. but it could seriously take a bite out of the middle of the market--20D, D200, etc. because it seems to have the same sensor as the D200

The price and features seem to be pitched very cleverly to maximise the market potential.

If anyone does not think that the Alpha will not be a serious contender they need to look again at the price and features on offer.

Brand loyalty only stretches so far.

  4. Thanks for the informative reply Guy.

Ive been reading about vignetting problems with the Canon 5D over on the EOS forum. It was believed that it was more of a lens issue than the camera. I was wondering if any of the Leica lenses you use have the problem particularly as they have not been corrected for digital use.

I prefer to ask these questions to experienced practising users. Thanks

  5. Iメm sure there was a Canon advert with a squirrel called Giampi in it. Can't be the same Giampi as we all know squirrels can't read or write.

Unless the squirrel has been subjected to some nefarious experiments by Canon in their quest to cure the vignettes. The truth can be stranger than fiction dudes.

I wonder if he likes acorns.

  6. The "Buyer Justification Manual" accompanying the DMR clearly states that in order to get the most out of the DMR, you must first bash - in clearly subjective terms, of course - all the other DSLRs

Obviously you do not understand the understandable conception or believe in the word 'superior'. Obviously you are financially challenged.
