Hello John.
Your right everyone there at the media center had laptops, I just want to show my images and get the exposhure. I just dont know where to turn to, and if i should have an online porfolio. How about the photographers market place? This was my first time shooting fast moving race cars (IRL), and I had a great time doing it and I think it shows in the pictures that I took. My Grandfather took me as a kid to the Hokenheim Ring in Germany for the F1 race, and I loved it from then on. Of course Formula One cars are more powerfull than the IRL cars. Well im going to keep on pushing, till I get to the top.

Thank's John for the advice, take care.

Then how can I find Sports Magazines that would by Images of the Grand Prix. I did contact my local newpaper and was told that they had there own photographers shooting the race. I did do a search with google for sports magazines with no result. Any one please give me some pointers on where to turn to, what about stock agencies?
By the way im not a pro yet, included is one of my pix. Tell me what you think.

Hy there.
I just shot the Infineon Grand Prix this Weekend, and was wondering
on where I could submit my Images for sale. Has anyone tried
http://www.photostockplus.com ? I am the sole Copyright owner of the
Images, was told by the track photographer that I could do with the
Images as I please. Was able to shoot where the Media People shot,
and did not shoot for any Magazines or Newspapers. Any leads would
be greatly appreciated.

Keith.
So that means I cant do as I please with my own pictures? Wouldnt they be my copyrighted pictures since I'm the one that has taken them? So I could then submit them to Magazines and puplicashions?
Thank you Keith for the information, I will look into the copyright and fair use photography laws.

I didnt know that I had to have signed releases from the drivers and car owners. I'm an Amateur Photographer, does that mater?

So how do you reset the count to zero?
-
I also have the 20D and I believe its the number of your last jpeg shott. Mine is IMG_7942, so that means that there have been 7942 jpegs. But then im wondering what about the ones that where shot in RAW? Any one else know about this?
-
Also is there another program which is better for converting Raw Pictures (workflow wise)?
-
When converting Raw Pictures, what is best Canon DPP or Photoshop
CS ?

Could any Pro's out there tell me about the three metering modes on
the Canon 20D wich does what? Is one better than the other, what
metering mode would you use on shooting the Sonoma Grand Prix? I
will be using the Canon 20D + Canon 70-200 f/2.8 and 2X Extender. I
will be there from Aug.26-Aug.28, planning on shooting Tv Mode and
panning. Also what shutter speed would you start off in 1/250 or
1/500, I want the cars sharp and the packground blurry. Guess I
could get by on using a monopod, and hope it will be a nice bright
sunny day.

Does any one have experience shooting at Sears Point/Infineon
Raceway with Canon 20D 70-200 f/2.8L IS lens & 2x Converter? I'm
planning to shoot the Inaugural Indycar Racing League Gran Prix on
Aug.28.05 , and was wondering what the best seating would be? Also
any pointers on shooting the race in general. Will include a seating
chart, I tought turn 9 Terrace would be nice since its a long
straight away, also should I get the ticket for the highest point in
the grand stand? Any info would be greatly appreciated, thank you
all.

I tranfer just the pictures via usb card reader, then when I cotinue shooting it will fill up that previous folder. When thats full the camera will create a new folder to place pix into, then when i transfer the new pix from old & new folder I erase the previous folder since the camera has created a new folder.

I had the same problem, till I upgraded the firmware. Try that and see if it resolves your problem.

Hello Robert.
I personally have owned the 70-200 f/4, 70-200 f/2.8, and now own the 70-200 f/2.8 IS . And from my experience the f/4 is lighter but not as sharp as the f/2.8, now the f/2.8 IS lens is faster on the focussing. I was amazed on how fast it locked on it does weigh more, but in my situation when using it with the 2x Converter I need the f/2.8 IS Version. At first I was hesitant in purchasing it, since reading a lott of posts about the 20D and 70-200 f/2.8 IS locking up, but I went ahead and updated the firmware to Ver. 2.0 and purchased the lens. I havent regreted purchasing this fine lens, so far no problems with it after 7000 shots. If you dont want the IS Version, then I would highly recommend the f/2.8. You will not regret it one bid, like the saying goes "You get what you pay for" .

Thank's for all the input especially from Edward Ingold, will be looking the Nikkor 70-200/2.8 VR, and something around 17-35mm.

Have just purchased an upgraded Kodak DCS Pro SLR/N, it has the new
ciruit boards and sensor and now reads DCS Pro SLR/NX when it powers
up. My queston is, what is a good Nikon lens for this body, when
doing outdoors photography (Flowers-close up not macro) and
landscapes. I bought a second hand Vivitar Series 1 28-300 f/4.0-6.3
lens with it, and the lens in my opinion is poor quality. I'm
looking in getting a lens thats as good as a canon 70-200 f/2.8L
lens. What model of Nikon lenses for this body? Should I only stick
to the Nikon Digital lenses? My opinion is that this body deserves
good glass to show its full potential. Any insight would be
appreciated, im new to Nikon and need all the help I can get.

This is what I found by reading Magic Lantern Guide: Canon EOS 20D by Rob Sheppard.
He sugests for the Velvia look: Parameters Set 1 = Contrast 2Points, Sharpness 1Point, Saturation 2Points. If you dont like it, just experiment with the individual settings. It's digital what have you got to loose :~} .
Good luck Carl.

Which of these lenses would be "OPTICALLY" best on a 20D? 17-85mm
F/4-5.6 IS USM, 17-35 f/2.8L, 17-40 f/4L, which of these is
optically best? I think the 17-35 f/2.8L (would be my first choice),
second choice 17-40 f/4L , have read that the f/4L is sharper than
the 2.8 dont see how, last choice 17-85 f/4-5.6 .

Jake.
Your right on the Canon lenses, you get what you pay for. I will save a litle more and get the Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L USM wideangle lens. I know deep in my hart that I would be disapointed if I got anything besides an L lens. I'll stick to what I know, nothing compares tp the L lens quality optically and build wise.
Thank's every one for your input.
-
Regarding the L lens, I had goten rid of the 70-200 f/2.8L lens before and ended up buing another one, because nothing else aftherwards compared to the sharpnes and bokeh. I went thru so many lenses till I repurchased the 70-200 f/2.8L and havent regreted spending good money for it. I also was thinking about the 17-85mm f/4L, but read a lot of bad reviews on fredmirandas site. I would like some thing faster than F/4 for low light work ir: Sunsets or for indoors work. I'm hooked on the L Series lense, and know if I dont get a wideangle L lens that I will regret it.

I am loking for a good Sigma wideangle lens for my 20D Body. Also
was wondering if anyone has had problems with the Sigma wideangle
lenses or knows of any incompatibility issues on the 20D ? I was
interested in the Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L USM wideangle lens but at
$1,300 its to rich for my blood. I already own 20D kit & Canon EF 70-
200 f/2.8L lens that have set me back a few dollars, so im looking
at a more inexpensive alternative lens like the Sigma wideangle
lens. I'm not interested in any other third party lenses besides
Sigma.
Using new Canon 20D, a little disappointed, maybe diopter setting.
