    Star Trails in Gold

          8

Star trails set across a high country pond on a cold crisp October

night.Five miles from the nearest sign of civilization , just me, my

Mamiya and what sounds like an army of Elk bugeling during there

rutting season. Tranquility at its best. Enjoy. Gary

    Big Dipper Setting

          6

The night was cold. The atmosphere clear as crystal. The wind was

dead still, the urge to wait just a few more minutes to watch the Big

Dipper set was an oppurtunity I wanted to share with everyone, Enjoy.

  1. I found this photo be be very intriguing as the red from a distant

airports rotating strobe light saturated the film with its

coloration. This was a one hour time lapse taken between 10 and 11

PM. I like the effect, but I doubt I could duplicate it. Enjoy. Gary

    Mystic Canyon

The breath taking beauty of Northern Arizona's Oak Creek Canyon was

especially eye catching on this particular day as light haze from a

local forest fire casts an eerie hue to the uppers escarpments of

    this already beautiful natural wonder.

    Night Church

Mike your doing fine. Just wait until it's REALLY dark. Also if your photographing something of light color , like the church, it will not only absorb light but also radiate it. So it will help to just show a portion of it in a corner when composing your picture, But a weathered building would give a better contast. I use either Fuji Velvia or Konica Impressa ASA 50 film, both will give you excellent results in capturing the night. Welcome to the wacky world af astrophograhy. Gary
  2. A US Air Force KC10 Aerial refueling tanker, on a night refueling

mission, penitrates the lower right hand corner of my star shot as

the small fighter jets waiting to be refueled hang to the rear.

Really a neat sight on one real dark night. Thanks

    Star Trail Pond

          9

I was shooting star trails when the scene of stars dancing on the

surface of a small high country pond caught my eye, It was one AM,the

temperature was 30 degrees, I was frozen, but I had to give it a

try.A one hour time exposure . I'm glad I did. Enjoy! Thanks

  3. I looked at this scene as I was waiting for the "right" Sunset and it

seemed as if it dared me to try to capture it. It was to bright, to

much in my lense, to much cloud reflection. So I took the challenge

and am not at all displeased with the result. Hope you like it.
