I have a Canon IPF 6100 printer and have begun printing gallery wraps on Epson Premium Canvas and trying to
protect them with Eco Print Shield. I have followed all the recommendations of Eco Print Shield (and allowed the
prints to dry and cure longer than recommended) however, I have an issue with the ink lifting from the print. I realize
the ink is a water based dye ink and Eco Print Shield is aqueous based as well. I discussed this problem with the
manufacturer of Eco Print Shield and after several Emails they told me there was a known problem with Canon inks.
I'm not sure I believe them as this was the answer only after the fourth Email and was a terse message. It feels like
they just wanted me to go away. In my discussion with Canon, they stated that they do not verifiy third party
manufacturer's products and do not manufacture or sell a print shielding/sealing product.
Is anyone printing on canvas with Canon printers and sealing the print with a different product or have any
suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

Another great lens to consider is the Zoom-Nikkor 80-200mm f/2.8 ED AF-D . No VR and much cheaper. At B&H its $890 for the import http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/124669-GREY/Nikon_1986_80_200mm_f_2_8_ED_AF_D.html .

I am looking for a reasonably priced monitor in the 20 -21" that can be
accurately color calibrated. I purchased a Hewlett-Packard LP2065 20" LCD
MONITOR from B & H photo. It was defective and could not be calibrated. I
know that it is calibratible as I know an outstanding wedding photographer who
successfully calibrates and uses one. I also have a Dell 21 monitor that
doesn't calibrate well. I have used both the Spyder and Eyeone systems to
avail. I am considering an Apple Cinema Display 20" monitor but use windows
based CS3 and Apple provides no support for the monitor when used with a
windows system. My questions: Is it worth the risk of using the Apple
monitor? Does anyone have a recommendation for another monitor in my price
range that is currently available and which they have successfully calibrated.
Thank you in advance for your support.

I have just ordered a Fuji S5 and already own a Nikon MC 20 Remote Cord for my
F-100. I also just recently read that it is usable with the S5. However, the
manual lists only the MC 22, 30 % 36. Does anyone know if there are any
electrical or other reason it the mc 20 won't work or was it just not included
because of its age. It's been a good and reliable reomote which i woruld like
to continue to use.
Thanks in advance.

I have been receiving an ERR message with the D70. The manual says to send the
camera back to Nikon for repair. However, I already know I am going to buy
another body - most likely a Fuji S5 or Nikon D300 but that is another issue -
as I have started doing weddings and portraits. However, I was counting on the
D70 as a backup.
The error first occured with a 28-200 f 3.5-5 Sigma lens on the camera.
Suddenly the aperture was stuck at f/22 and wouldn't change. I think I may
have used the depth of field preview just before hand. I changed lenses to a
Nikon 105 f/2 lens and it worked fine. I put the Sigma lens on another D70
body and the lens worked fine. Later that day I used the camera again and put
the Sigma lens on to see if it would work and it worked fine for a few shots
the the error occured again.
At this point it seems to occur intermittently with any of my lenses.
Yesterday it didn't work at all, today it was fine.
I have the following questions:
1. Does anyone have any idea what is going on?
2. Should I send it to Nikon and spend whatever they charge to diagnose it or
just spend the money to buy another used D70 or D200?
3. Any other recommendations?
At this point I just do not trust this camera and obviously wouldn't rely on it
as my prime camera for a wedding and am even concerned about keeping it as a
backup.
Thanks in advance for your help.

It has been my understanding that Tokina and Tamron lenses were not all that great when used with High Megapixel (>10) cameras and that you saw every defect in the glass. Is this so? And, if so, wouldn't one be wiser to invest in better glass from the start?

FYI - Refixed and Rewashed. Problem resolved. Thanks.

I thought fixing might be the answer but I was afraid I might bleach out the negative. Thanks for the input. I'll give it a shot.

I recently developed 3 rolls of Ilford 400 pro film in T-max RS and fixed in
TF4. They were washed in 68 degree tap water for 10 minutes after 60 seconds
in hypoclearing solution.
The problem is that on one roll only there is a brown stain running the length
of the roll but not extending to the edge of the roll.
Any ideas will be appreciated.

I went to Nepal 3 years ago and took a lot of photos. Thinking to
save the film from additional radiation (2 weeks at 11,000 feet or
higher plus several airport x-ray exposures I had them processed in
Katmandu. Now three years later, when I pulled a couple of the
negatives and scanned them I noticed that they all have
these "white" defects. Does anyone know why? Was it poor
processing? Lack of hardener in the processing? I have stored them
in Archival negative sleeves. They do seem to scratch easily. I'm
afraid that this will continue to worsen and I have begun scanning
them all to clean them in PS. If there is a method by which I can
halt this from advancing I'd like to give it a try. Thanks for the
help.
