Carl, the horizon is not straight. Btw, found this on the Internet:

Thanks. Actually, it's merged from 3 different shots, here is the original.

Thank you for your time and comments.

You are absolutely right! Thanks for the kind words.

"This couldn't be HDR. HDR is a blend of several exposures taken from several shots."
Photomatix can blend few different conversions from the same picture, either RAW or exposure adjustment in Photoshop.
-
"there is no trickery or photoshop manipulation and the old man is somehow representing a time lost."
I think this B&W is converted from a HDR with tone mapping applied.

A wider view will make this picture more powerful, maybe a fisheye will keep you on the boat. :)

The 6 "auto focus points" are quite interesting.

Thanks for the comments. This is a lucky shot, 10 minutes walk to get that close. It was a cloudy and overcast day, not too much reflections, so I can get more saturated green. Flash extender has been used. Just bought a pair of Speedo water shoes, I am waiting for them to come back.

After reading a "Master Photoshop in 3 Days" type of book, most people can cover the flaws on a not too good HDR image. I might be wrong, please let me know if there are some special techniques have been used. Nice try, but this is not a once in a life time capture, not even close.

"I personally don't like this photo (because I have many like this and I don't even want to show to my friends).."
Blurring and panning are totally different. It's judged by the number of legs. Can you make a cat shot with 8 legs? :)

Hi Phil, nice capture. I can see the noise problem. Fill flash with flash extender will help.

Nice HDR, but I prefer the building can be slightly darker.

Maybe portrait mode is better than landscape, and unfortunately, your lens can't zoom. :) Impressive.

Hi Kent, maybe the polarizer filter should be used.

It's over exposed, there are no details on the feather.

The uneven light could be the shadow of the clouds.
