I use a Minolta Scan Dual IV and get great results with T-Max 100. It scans better than anything else I've tried. With 400 the grain is noticable of course, but still acceptable.

Look for a used sb-28.

The 24-85/3.5-4.5G EDIF AF-S is a great lens. If you're worried about motion blur, use faster film.

Wow! If these two men are the same, that's an icredible find. I googled his name as well and found the Nationak Press Photographers Association (www.nppa.org) has him listed as well. You might try sending them an email for more info, if they have any.

Save now for an N80. Throughout high school I shot for the yearbook and newspaper with an N8008s. It's a fine camera, but today I use an N80 and wouldn't think of going back to the 8008s.

"I have read that digital cameras have the same dynamic range as print film.."
Every opinion I've read is just the opposite. That dslr's have a range closer to slide film than negative. Where did you read this?

So it was advancing at first? The frame counter reads "5" but it won't go any farther and you know the shutter is firing? <br>
My best guess is the film advance is set to multiple exposure.

Did you compare brackets on kirkphoto.com to see if it's for a different body? The bracket for the "Canon Digital Rebel with BG-E1" looks like what you've described.

Adorama describes this flash as TTL for both Minolta and Nikon. Could be an error but since they specify non-TTL for Canon I would guess it's correct.<br>

Take a look at <a href="http://popphoto.com/article.asp?section_id=3&article_id=627&page_number=1">this pdf file</a> at Popular Photo.

I'm getting a lot of dust in scans from a Minolta Dimage Scan Dual IV.
I've blasted my film with canned air and I can't see any dust left on
it, but maybe I need a stronger loupe. Can anyone suggest a way to
confirm if there is dust stuck in the film emulsion or on the scanners
sensor? If it's on the sensor, how can I clean it?
Is it normal to see this much dust?

Thom Hogan says some very good things about the F6.
"..I wish it was around when I was shooting daily with the F5--I would have traded my F5 in for an F6 in an eye blink."
Check his review.

If you want to use MF lenses, the F100 is what you want. Neither the N80 or the D70 can meter with MF lenses. Even if they could, the "focusing" screens suck for manual use. The F100 is the only of them that has interchagable screens. I have owned an N80 for about two years and it's great, but if my wallet allowed it I would buy an F100 tomorrow.
-
Of course, you'll still want an AF lens and not an AI or AI-S, since those are not compatable with the D70.

Read pages 56-57 of the instruction manual. On page 57 there is a box that begins to explain the scale. Also, page 60 explains what happens when using exposure compensation.

Vignetting?
in Nikon
Unless Fuji has radically changed there product line, Velvia is still a slide film. Call me crazy but if this was any kind of vignetting the corners would be lighter not darker. -
It's not just the lens mount that's different. The Sigma has a metal barrel as well, the Nikon is completely plastic.<br>
See what others are saying about both at photographyreview.com.<br>

For a side by side comparison of the d and non-d 50mm 1.8 look at this artilce at nikonians.org: http://www.nikonians.org/html/resources/guides/teddy/teddy-bear-10.html
If you ask me, the d lens produced the better shot. The background exposure is better and the subject doesn't have the obvious "flash look."

Chris, Nico is correct. Nikon will reprogram the N80 to leave the film leader out. Check the forums at nikonians.org, many people have had it done. I personaly asked Nikon if it could take the place of an existing custom function, it can't. Once you have it reprogramed it will always leave the leader out.
