  1. "Shooting from the hip" - one of the benefits of being a middle-aged female is that it's almost like being invisible... If I get noticed (usually by the shutter click) I just look confused like I hit the shutter by accident... This does work better with the old Pentax K1000 rather than the Nikon, however!
  2. Jacques, I think this might work...In your Workspace, go down to the section where you can see "What Others Are Told About You" - and click on your ID. It will bring up the forums you have made responses to. You can then click on those to see if there are any new responses. I don't think there's a way to tell if there is a new remark, but at least it's an easier way to follow up!
  3. Jim, thank you kindly for the link...I actually walked over from work to Wolf camera and skimmed thru Dig Phot for Dummies and read enough to realize that I probably only need to think about batteries, memory card and maybe a cable to hook up to my computer? I'm only totally ignorant about DIGITAL, thank you very much! ;) I am Manual-Dependent, I must admit - but I can usually find the viewfinder (although with my newly-acquired Polaroid sx-70, I have to wonder if that helps!).
  4. OK. I've only ever shot film. I have a chance to bid at the local

Goodwill for a reconditioned Oly Camedia c2040 zoom. It looks

untouched, but there is nothing else in the box. I don't even know

what else it needs, and I don't want to bother you guys with lists,

etc. QUESTION; Can anybody give me a ball-park figure how much more $

I can expect to spend on gear for basic function? Thanks!

  5. Gary, thought this was about the shot? As a woman, maybe I've got some more validity with you. The man looks cooperative - the woman does not. She is just as capable (maybe more so as we tend to "fight dirty") of spitting in your eyes, biting you and scratching you with her fingernails to give you some very nasty and possibly incurable infections. Get over it - they're doing their job.
