  1. There is probably some uut there that are unhappy about their M8 - But I'm not one of them!

Got mine in mid December, had my troubles with the purples until I got a IR filter, then got

very pleasing results, hope to get the full potential in the near future. Upgraded to 1.102

    yesterday without a problem.

Have received exelent service from the Danish distrubutor, they lend me a IR filter, because

the B&W filters is difficult to get in Denmark.

  2. The marking is most important with 35mm and wider.

With a 50 and 75 mm it should be OK without the markings - you will want the ir filters

    though!

I have used a 135Elmarf4 50f2Rigid with exelint result (framing is a little difficult with the

    135 though)

  3. I have been useng 2 x 2Gb Sandisk Extreme III without the slightest problem, and with the

1,092 firmware going through images is very fast.

I do format the cards on a regular base though, instead of just deleting.

  4. Hi Paul

In the menu there is a setting that let you set the "Auto slow sunc" - you have probably set

this to "Lens dependent" - so when you set the "Lens dectection" to ON the slow sync

changes - You can either set the Slow sync to:

    OFF = 1/250

    Down to 1/30

    Down to 1/8

    Down to 32 sec

    Or use manual setting

    Actualy pretty neat!

  5. Fredrick - well the only light scource was a 25W lightbulb inside a black tube - with this you

can "paint with light" - first the models then the baggrund, the blur on this is bu waiving

both the yellow paper and the light - highly unpredicable (at least for me) but great fun!

And you can make a complete studio light + baggrounds for 20-20$ then you only beed a

    camera and a dark room!

Another example where I used a yellow and a blue paper to the bagground

Of course any DSLR could have done this, but I wanted to try out my new M8<div>00JHRs-34127584.thumb.jpg.59be0ca22f6a9f05567ae3121c23d644.jpg</div>

  6. Leica M is not really made for "close range" photography, but a very good option is the 90

mm macro elmar that goes to 1:3.

But as mentioned before a SLR is better suited to closeups if you want Leica take a R8 or 9

perhapps with the DMR and the 60/100 mm macro then you have a very good (and

    expensive) system

  7. One of the first task i have used my M8 to was a session "paint with light" 32 sek exposure time f16 - not

the main way I will use it for, but result was OK.

With 32 sek exposuretme there will always be a little motionblur - but portrats don't have to be ultra

    sharp!<div>00JHHm-34123184.jpg.33f21837b2b8ec6ba2e90feff46436de.jpg</div>

  8. Hi Paul

I aquried the Noctilux beginning of 2006 (from a fellow PN member) to be used om a

future "Digital M" - waiting for my M8 (albeit a little worried abouy the "M8 issues")

Do you have more pics? some in colour?

    Is your M8 updated?

    regards

    Kaj From Denmark

  9. I do have a M3 "user" - there is a dent on a corner and marks here an there, the rangefinder

is good all times os ok exept perhaps 1/1000sek - so this is a fylly functional "user M3" with

serial number 1129XXXX (well over one million) - i was looking to sell this for something like

US 350 + shipping (I'm located in europe (obs no lens is included

  10. I got a Leica C-Lux instead of the Panasonic becaise the Leica is Black and there is included a

Photoshop Elements for MAC & PC this was worth more for me than the pricedifferende.

Don't really know if there is any differences than the name & look. This is a really nice camera

to use, logic & userfrendly menues, and good imagequality.
