Hey all.
I just got a hasselblad and shot about 10 rolls. I didnt get the film scanned, just got 4x4 proofs and scanned those. THEY CAME OUT TERRIBLE. Do most photographers get the film scanned when getting the rolls developed?
Check'em out.

Thanks all. Street/Environmental. I know most businesses will be reluctant to have me setup a shoot. So something more of spur of the moment type of thing. I rarely use flashes. I like more of natural light so there's nothing to setup. Just wanting to get peoples input on how they go about approaching people in the street/environment etc. Thanks again

I'm trying something new here (well for me at least). Anyway, I saved some cash and funding the entry point of this massive undertaking of doing this street portrait project mostly done in people's work place. For people that have done similar projects, what was the response of the majority. I get a lot of no's. Luckily I live in NYC and there are over 8million people to choose from, but what kind of approaches do people use? I just want some feedback to hopefully land more volunteers.
I basically say I'm doing a documentary on american workforce etc etc. Does anyone think i should use a different approach?

Thanks all,

I just upgraded to a Hassie 500c/m. I don't know anything. I've done everything from 35mm to digital. This is such a new type of machine for me. Anyways this may seem like really dumb and simple question.

The Hassie came with a Rapid winding crank. Is that the crank I use to advance the film? I know the film back has a crank as well just confused a bit.

Has anyone ever tried this on a film camera? I have a Nikon F3 and wondering if anyone has done this type of photography using 35mm as opposed to digital.

Hi everyone. I was wondering if anyone knew of anyone/anywhere who did dye transfer printing? or is this something I would have to do on my own? I want to get a bunch of slides printed with the most color contrast.

got it to work... Thanks for your help guys.. apparently some of the cartridges that they give you are defective

Thank you..But I got it from amazon ($240 plus $120 rebate from epson) can't beat it just need to get the damn thing to work. I heard Epson would send me new cartridges...Going home soon to see if thats the problem. replacing the 3.

I just bought an Epson 1400. I saw the prints it makes before I bought it and WOW. Anyway I take it out of the box and install everything. The ink light is on (red) and the power light is flashing. When I run the ink levels it says 3 cartridges need to be replaced. Never got to do a print test. nothing. Has anyone encountered this problem. Or do you think it's possible epson could have sent me 3 bad cartridges.

Thanks
I heard from a photographer in in Brooklyn that if you develop slide
film in a normal one hour photo place with C-41 processing, the
effects are great...Gives the image a sort of blue-ish tint to it.
I was wondering if anyone heard of the same thing?

Hi...
I recently bought a Nikon F3hp for rather cheap. Now the only flaw is
that there is a hairline scratch in the mirror. Does anyone know of
any place in the NY/NJ metro area where I could get it replaced for a
reasonable price? Also I would like to know how much this usually
goes for? It gets annoying to see through the viewfinder and see this
scratch.
-
Yeah...I wasn't looking for 20 exposures per frame...just using that as an example....I've been eyeing the F3hp so much. it looks like a camera that's gonna last me for a long time....Im just wiating for B&H to reopen.
thanks

Dave, Haha funny....I do wish I had the funds to buy 2 camera's at once...In that case I would just buy a bunch of cameras and use the one I liked...
-
Dave, I don't wanna base buying a camera on one criteria. I've been taking a lot of things into consideration. I was just wondering of random stuff that I could possibly due with my camera of choice. I get so indesicive about buying new equipment...but I think so do a lot of photographers...one odesn't want to buy the wrong camera etc...

I was wondering if someone could educate me a bit? To get the effect
of a subject being photographed 20 times on one frame, such as a
snowboader doing a trick or a car moving, is a motordrive used for
that? If so would a Nikon F3hp &/or Fm3a have a frame lock for
multiple exposer for such an effect? I know it might be a stupid
question. I'm looking to buy either camera and a motordrive to get
better effective pictures. thanks for anyone who posts

You guys have been of great help. I stoped by B&H today and I think I'm going to go with the F3hp. I mean for the money I can't beat it...and the view finder is amazing.

Hey all,
I've been shooting film for about 3 years now and I need an upgrade
on my SLR. I was looking around and I came across a bunch of Nikon
F3hp's for around the same price as the FM3a. Now I wanted some
people's advise as to what they think about the two and which one
the recommend. I do a lot of outdoor shooting as well as indoor. I'm
just looking for a camera that's gonna last me and also keep taking
great pictures.
