I think this picture deserves that you shot the metal bird again, without the other parts of the monument (to get a better resolution), then you digitally remove the original sky and pedestal and add another sky you consider more dramatic (if the original isn't). I really love the surreal appearance of the "heavy" metal bird trying to fly free the sky.

...tu vienes a Santo Domingo por pocos dias y ya estas haciendote dueno de nuestras bellas mujeres (dame su direccion y telefono, please!!!!). Ahora en serio: Hermosa foto, bien iluminada, buen encuadre pero apoyo la sugerencia que te hacen al respecto. Me gusta la pose que tiene ella y la pasividad de su mirada.

For your kind comments, in this picture and the others. You are right about the D70, it is the best choice of the moment, in quality and price. Another example is my pic called "Playa de muertos II" also taken with the D70 using long exposure (20 secs.) with no digital noise.
