  1. The fuji S3 is an option, a friend of mine just bought one for 2200. You could buy 2 of them and have money left over for one D2X-has anyone own or used a S3? Do the files work with Nikon Capture software?

What is the raw file size from the S3?

  2. The mac is about 1 yr old, it is 2.0. And I do use a fire wire reader, but I am photographing hundred+ doctors and the marketing dept would like just 1 photo of each(doc pik-larger screen makes picking easier) and all the photos need to be renamed with the doctors name for identification. Otherwise I do like to use the card reader.
  3. I have a Nikon D2H, I book computer, Nikon Capture, USB2.0 wire(tried

    several wires),

the camera sometimes links and most times does not. My Nikon D100

always links using the same equipment.

Any one else have the same problem

  4. I have a D2H and love the camera, I have seen 4ft prints made from my camera, and have been able to view them up close, they look great.

Although he might want to wait to see what the D2X will cost when it is out in stores-I wonder if the D2H price will drop at that point.

  5. Capture 4 only takes out the dust with photographs shot with the D2H.

I have done it-it works well. Before every shoot I take one dust off photo of a white out of focus wall. Any focused dusy particles are then taken out of all the following photos.

  6. Jerry, I shoot raw and Jpegs simultaneously, the raw need alot of pumping up(contrast,saturation-in photoshop CS and Capture you can control the degree of both) because the raw are unprocessed by the camera, jpegs are-so that way you can compare the two.

Capture costs 99.00 to purchase. David

  7. Jerry,

Do the Jpegs have more contrast than the raw?

I also find that the Nikon capture does a better job processing the raw files than the Photoshop CS.

  8. You need to purchase Nikon Capture(99.00). You can direct the photos to certain folders on your hard drive and then view the photos using Nikon View. Photoshop CS will not help you tether your camera. I thought that the D70 uses USB, not the faster USB 2.0, check the manual-if it is the USB it will be slower.

  9. I currently shoot with a Nikon D100, I give clients photos on Cd with

files as large as 17mb, want to buy a second camera body, I like the

D2H but it seems like the file sizes will only go up to about

11mb(thats only a 5x7 at 300dpi)I dont like the older battery on the

D1X. That leaves another D100 or maybe the better option- a D70.

Is there any way to get around the smaller file size on the D2H-I know

in photoshop I can have it make up the difference to give me the extra

size but I don't think that is a good option.

  10. I went into a camera store expecting to buy a used D1X( I currently

have a D100,need a backup body now, going to buy a D1X and make the

D100 a backup). Then I noticed that had a very good price on the

D2H-held it, played with it and fell in love with it. From everything

I have heard the lower megapixel is not a problem, Does anyone have

experience with the D2H vs the D1X, or vs the D100? Any recomendations

either way? Will my sb80DX flash work TTL on the D2H? I photograph

people on location for corporate clients, not a lot of sports.

  11. Megan,

Depending where you are located- I am in the northeast US where the transit starts at about 1am and ends about 6am, the sun does not rise until about 5am so I will see the last hour-and you have to have a location where you will have a unobstructed eastern horizon.

    And I think(not positive) you need a #3welder's glass.

    David
