  1. Lori, I looked at your photonet portfolio, and really, as a former photography instructor, I have to tell you that all you need is to look and study. Because all your photos are of flowers, it's difficult to critique each one. Generally, I would say that they are all too closely cropped and too sharpened/overprocessed on your computer. The best advice i can give you, is to go to your library and pull out photo books, and study. Looking at lots of famous images and studying lighting and composition will surely improve and help satisfy your desire for improved photos. Good luck. Mary
  2. Lots of colleges offer photography classes with excellent instructors, besides the schools you listed above. I would check into your local community colleges first. Attending workshops, unless they are designated for beginners, expect a certain level of photo knowledge by attendees.
  3. Hi Christophe! I think your last sentence says it all...as you get more experienced with your equipment (and film if you use it), you will "automatically" estimate correctly. For ten of my 30 years behind a camera, I didn't have a metered body and it never was a problem. Keeping notes about your exposures and basically "playing" around with your equipment and lenses will help you become faster and more accurate with exposures. Mary
