I use the domke strap with the pull off swivel type hardware, it isnt quick release, but the swivel keeps the strap from twisting up all over the place...

nuh uh.

might be the mirror that is loud...

keep the IIe, honestly in the wide scope of life, u can never get a IIe for the price you can sell it for, so keep it. I kept mine, even though I never use film anymore but still nice to use as a bookend on my shelf.

This is about the rebate that is going on. I sent in for a rebate a
month ago, one black digirebel, 50 1.4 and 70-200 F4L , the rebate
center had "lost" the 50.14 and 70-200L papers and sent me a check
for only 100 dollars. The rebate should be 420 dollars, lucky for
me, I MADE COPIES OF EVERYTHING I sent in, so I called them and they
gave me an address to resubmit. So the reminder is to not be lazy
and do indeed make copies of everything you send in.
Happy new year.

price? that was the only factor ! Canon EF 24- 70mm F2.8L USM wins hands down, nothing tops it, it is the lens that every owner of a tamrom 28-75 wish they could afford !
It is canon ! canon is supreme ! all others are wannabe lenses.
If I werent so poor myself I would get a Canon EF 24- 70mm F2.8L USM. I have the tamron 28-75.

those XX-300 zooms are cheap.

I really think the terms wanking, masterbating, and jerking off on the gear really was uncalled for. What does that have to do with anything anyway ? all that auto eroticism. but anyway, I say go ahead and buy the 85, then go and understand why canon make the lenses that they do, each one has an application and a group of buyers out there as determined by their marketing dept. remember a picture is a picture, and with the 20D you can always crop a wider picture but you cant add stuff to your tele picture. good luck with your choice.

So what would be the next best setting? If one were to want great everyday jpgs right out of the camera, would parameter 1 be the best or can anyone suggest a custom setting that they find greatly usable ?
-
the canon backpack EG 200 . holds camera with drive and 70-200 attached down the middle of the pack.
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=248295&is=REG
it is comparable to tamrac's middle line backpacks, and at 50 bucks it wont break the bank.
-
no problems here either..
-
IMHO, there isnt a difference.
-
yeah, dont get rid of them at all, one body dont take up much space and you wont get any real $ out of selling them so...
-
ahhh just get the 1.4 , it is nicer to own and you get more circular boke items.
-
people not going to flame you because the questions are elementary, they'll flame you because you could have found the answers if you searched the formum because these questions has been asked a billion times already.
-
the 1.8 is better for low light.
-
you can go for those tiny 28-200 lenses.. very light and small

handheld macro work ? you do know the DOF in macro work is like credit card thin right ? especially if you use such high shutter speeds it means you will be shooting wide open, what the heck are you doing ? I would love to know what the hell it is that you plan to shoot. ***scratching the head***

Hi mark, you would have tons of fun with either. now that you got the 20D, I suggest a 28-200 MM zoom lens in the 200-300 price range. This is cheap and great for you to explore your inner self and will open you up into your photography style. Note what you enjoy shooting, what focal length you use the most and wether it is day or night. once you figured out your style, you can get proper glass that will suit you better, wether it be primes or great quality zooms, weither it be fast glass of 1.8-2.8 or you dont need fast glass and you can go 4.0 5.6, maybe you like landscapes at sunset so perhaps imagestablization would be your thing, maybe you find you like soft photos better than sharp ones in which case you wont need to change lenses at all !
for me I love my digital rebel, it is fun and the user interface closely resembles my old oly e10. In two years when my warranty expires, 1 yr canon 1 year visa card extended, canon comes out with the 25D for around 1200 bucks, I might pick that up and move my drebel to studio work or as backup.
-
I dunno, unless you have alot of ambient light, why would shutter speed matter at all ?
-
I use those NiMH in my old olympus flash, worked wonders ! always better than standard disposable batteries.
-
please note that below the 8 S&M ones, there is one Asphyxiation fetish one too.

they have at in japan, in the japan canon catalog they have this whole lineup of S&M wear for your camera. tight black leather with zippers and shoots for your *lenses*.
