very simple but effective pose. nice lighting and tone. very well done.

nice lighting, pose, and composition. perhaps a bit more dof to get both eyes sharp...but overall very nice portrait.

David,
Overall very nice portrait. Those eyes and the expression are perfect. My only complaint is that, imo, the flowers in the lower left are a bit too distracting. The big one alone would distract less from her expression. Very well done, nonetheless.

nice tone, detail, and color. it's wierd, but the water puddle seems to have a mercury look to it. the reflections are good and sharp. well done.

i think it all works very well. superb portrait. sorry, can't think of anything to help you improve.

Osvaldo,
very good portrait. i cannot quite discribe why this is so striking, but it is. perhaps it's how the girl is almost a model posing in the midst of a not so glamorous environment. sorry if my explanation falls short. as for the technical details, i like the composition though a bit more leg at the bottom would not hurt. sepia i think works well. great photo.

i like this version for the perspective but for some reason the rotated version is easier to see what's going on. both are good.

Kevin,
I certainly like the composition with all the different lines. the picture works quite well in black and white, though the tonal range seems to be somewhat flat (make any sense?) also, i can't quite figure out the tilt. overall, good job.

Jaap, this works very well in b+w. i like the tonal range here. my only suggestion is to get a similar shot with the car in the right of the frame, as you have done, but the shot more in the center of the road (be careful:). well done.

tone and grain fit the image so well. it's a bit dark, but this helps focus in on her. nice capture.

very good attempt. generally speaking, i like what you tried to do. but the fact that there seems to be a tilt to the building and the top of the doorway is cutoff distracts. furthermore, your subject is perhaps to intricate to be so small. try cropping, leaving her on the left but making her more the "center". (all just my opinion.) good job

good portrait and good capture of that smile. my only suggestion would be to clone out the fingers in ps, which should be rather easy to do.

Kelly, i think that this image has a lot of potential, but there are several distractions. on my monitor, the image seems to lack smooth edges and seems pixelated. is this my monitor or the picture? also, i can't seem to tell what is hanging down. is it a pair of legs? good effort. if you have the chance, a reshoot with more detail would be good.

the unique conversion to black and white definitely separates this shot from others. the contrast is great.

lovely portrait. the expression is priceless and those eyes are beautiful. i like it indeed. my only suggestion would be to try one with a darker background. it would add some darker tones to the photo as well as help isolate that precious face from the background. as is, very well done.

i think that anything better would be difficult. the bridge centered for symmetry i think is important. the photographer is perhaps too centered, but obey the "rules" here would be hard. you would either lose the trees at the top or the perspective of the long bridge, both of which i like. so, in answer to your question, i think the composition is fine, imo. good job.
