    Like a lost DiVinci painting
  2. Michael, I'm still finding this new version horribly complicated to use so I don't check in very often.

    Nymph in sunset

    Fun image - well conceived.
  4. Well done - you struck my weak spot - I love curves
  5. I grow weary of this model.

    Music of Eagles

Might crop sky at top down to just above top eagle's head. I think it will have the result of giving the feeling that the eagles are caged in by the wires and poles. fwiw
  7. There are a dozen or two old regulars on Facebook. They are listed in my friends section. My user name is Gunga Jim Downs. You'll have to browse through my friends list to find old PN regulars.
  8. Haven't been here for 6 weeks or so and haven't posted for about 5 months. Things appear to be shaping up a bit, probably enough to cause me to renew in a couple of months. I have a number of photos in various galleries that I would like to move to another gallery. I see how you can add photos to a gallery and delete a photo but do not see a move tool. When you delete a photo from a gallery does it go to the bit bucket, never to be seen again or is it still in the system and can now be assigned to a different gallery. If so, where does one go to find the photo and re-assign it. Also, can the same photo be assigned to multiple galleries? Sorting the gallery sequence has improved modestly but is still a formidable task when you are dealing with dozens of galleries. It would be nice to be able to assign a number (say, 01 thru 20) to each folder. Then, have a command to sort of the galleries based on the assigned number. Then, you could use the drag and drop to resequence all galleries that have the same assigned number. This feature should allow the user change the sort number for any gallery and have an option to wipe out all the assigned sort numbers and start over. It may be an old-fashioned solution but I have been doing stuff like this since the 70's. It is just not that difficult to program and it is easy to use. an attribute that will bring joy to the members. :D I dare not ask whether a rating system will be re-activated. If you are considering it, for a modest fee, I will write up detailed specs for a new system that will bring even more joy to all users. :)
  9. An old-fashioned solution but it will work - allow us to enter a 3 digit sort sequence # for each gallery. If we don't particularly care how a group of galleries sort, we could give them the same sort # and let them sort alpho (by gallery title within the sort #. I would be glad to provide detailed specs and examples if you are interested in examining this approach. But I don't want to waste my time if you already have your mind set on how to approach. It takes a little work on the front end but it easy to make changes thereafter. The same approach can be used for images within a gallery. I have used this approach many times in designing databases. I know it is easy to implement and users never complain.
  10. Actually it was PN v.2 that was released a few months ago before it was ready. A few bug fixes reported but I have never personally experience one. A lot of people are very patient but I am 70 now and docs tell me each additional day i live is roughly a 50/50 proposition. So I am not patient and almost perpetually cranky.
  11. More will be revealed to us in the light-years ahead.
  12. Fred, To me the two elements need to work in tandem. One without the other dramatically devalues the site..
  13. This fall under the broad category of Customer Service which is not currently an operative function on this site.
  14. Try resequencing a portfolio that has 200 or so gallery folders (system doesn't provide a folder count that I can find) using drag and drop. Old system had the list of galleries in a compact format. It was difficult but not impossible to do a major resequencing. Now there are only 5 or so folders per screen. It is more fun to cut your nuts off than to try and resequence them now. I have faced this issue before on development projects I've been involved in over the years. It is not a difficult problem to fix unless you happen to be dealing with 10,000 other system design flaws. Think I will go find my dull pocketknife for some late night entertainment.
  15. Surely someone has a hooker picture?

This berm almosts passes as a kopje (or whatever they call the things where cheetahs hang out in Tanzania. One of the best wildlife shots I've seen during my 13 years with PN>
  17. i think julie may be glen's mother or sister, i got a lecture a month or so ago.
  18. End of Days is on the horizon. Hope the site stays accessible long enough to go through and copy the back stories I wrote for many of my travel photos. I sent email to NamesMedia (owner of PN) a few days ago regarding the intolerable state of affairs. The thing PN does not seem to understand is that the value of the site has two elements: 1. PN providing a functional and ever improving platform, and 2. members providing content in the form of images, comments, forum posts etc. Because the first has regressed, the 2nd is quickly following.
  19. Have you been saying your prayers at night and making your bed in the morning? God may be punishing you for some unconfessed transgression. Then again, it could be like 70% of the other features on the site; it doesn't work in V2.
