Perhaps a moot point, The M 240 is unavailable now, and will be for a long time.

Well, you're going to hear a lot of back and forth, only true way to know yourself is rent the 24-70 for a week, and see for yourself. I have used both, to me the 24-70 is vastly a better lens.
The downside is the shorter reach, but it is much sharper.

The comment was actually quite correct, and the answer is obvious.

I vote for the original image also, the crop takes too much out of the story. Friends shouldn't mess with other friends images.

The answer to your questions is yes, and yes.

the difference between a D 700 and a D 90 is the difference between lightning and a lightning bug.
Get the D 700, its amazing.

Video camera to compete with the Red.

I have all three- my suggestion is the MK II body and the 1.8 lens. If and when cirumstances justified, you could move to the 1.2, but only after having shot a minimum of 5,000 images with the 1.8.

Thats it- thanks !

Can anyone give me a name of a camera strap, somewhat long, that attches to the tripod socket in the bottom of the camera, thanks.

50 1.4; or better , the 24-70.

The D700 is a GREAT camera.

bucks down
in Nikon

How about renting a 50 1.4 lens to see ?
-

I had it in the past and found it to be a superb lens.

Film is alive and well, but getting a print made by an enlarger is next to impossible unless it is done by yourself. A scanned and digital print from a negative, especially a B & W negative, is disapointing. No sense of depth.

Purcahse a 35 2.0 and keep your 7d, your equioment is fine.

I have a 1DS MK II, in its time is was, and is a great camera, but its not much better, or even at all, better than your 7D. A better full frame choice would be a 5D MK II, or its equivalent at that time. The only adavantage to the 1DS series is the built in drive, and weather sealing, if you need it. $$$$ permitting, I feel the best canon body at the moment is the 1D MK Iv.

Go over to Kirk Tuck website, read why he is migrating back to the hasselblad.

If you are asking to compare the 60 to the 105 DC, no they are not of the same quality, the 105 is a much sharper, smoother image lens. The 60 and the 85 are comparable. The 60 would work fine for your purpose on a DX body. I love the 105 on a full frame body.

Amazon does pay the return shipping, but then deducts it from the credit issued, so you pay the return shipping net.

Precision Camera has them in stock.

The 60 is a great lens and could work well for what you want ; just because the 24-70 covers that range does not mean the 60 is a duplicate; shooting with a prime vs a zoom is an entirely different style, and the images are different; I myself move much more freeely with a prime, and shoot better images. Truth is, in the using, the 50 and 60 are completely different. The 60 is a cheap rent, rent it for a week and give it a go.
