1. I am thinking of selling my Hasselblad 500c/m and a couple of lens and accesories. Where can I look to see what that stuff is selling for? What is your opinon of selling to large dealers like Keh or B@H. or others? Thanks in advance for any opions.
  2. I have a tripod which I am thinking of selling. I cant find any info on this tripod as far as price goes. It is a Manfrotto model # 3036. It has a head which is Manfrotto model #3047.. The head has three adjusting handles on it. The condition is like new. I believe I only used it once. Any information on this tripod will be appreciated. Thaniks in advance.
  3. My friend has a Kodak camcorder. The manual that comes with it says it is a series 2000, model 2200 or 2400. I know nothing of these camcorders. So I am posting this ad to see if these things have any value at all. She is thinking of giving it to Goodwill or some thing like that. Thought I would check here first to see if these things have any value. Any info would be helpfull. Thanks in advance. Gus
  4. I am thinking of selling some photo stuff. I would like to sell it face to face, cash only. But if I can not do that what is the best way? I am thinking u.s. postal money order will be the safest. Thanks in advance for any info on this subject.
  5. I have a Hallelblad 500C/M. It has a 12 film magazine and a waist level view finder. It is like new in box with all the paper work that came with it. I bought it new years ago and seldom used it. I would like to get a price for it so that I can insure it. The price should not include any lens, I got the prices for the lens already. But I cant seem to find any prices on the internet for the camera. Can anyone help me with a price for this camera? It is black with chrome trim and like I wrote earleir, it is like new in box. Thanks for any help. Gus.
  6. Can any one recommend a Leica flash for my Leica R8? It has to be a Leica brand that will give me full capabilities of TTL operation. Does anyone know what model flash Leica made for the R8 in 1997? Thanks in advance for any info. Gus
  7. A day ago I posted a post about my Leica R8 and a Metz 36 C-2 flash. Well, looking thru a camera bag in my closet I found another flash new in box. It is a Metz 44AF-2 digital. Will this flash work on my R8 and give me full capabilities? I know crap about flash photography. Now I want to start to take flash photos. Thanks again for any info. Gus
  8. I own a Leica R8 and a Mecablitz 36 C-2 flash by Metz. In the Leica manual it keeps mentioning a SCA 3501 adapter. I really can not understand the reason for the adapter. Is this adapter necessary to take flash pictures with this camera? Do I have to go out and buy one or what? Any info will be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Gus.

    vermont travel

I plan to visit Vermont in the fall for photo opportunities. Any places you can recommend to me. Thanks in advance. Gus.
  10.
Well, I got some info on the Metz. It does not need a 3501 to work on the R8. It should work just fine and if it doesn't I have till the end of Jan. to return for a full refund. So I will just go ahead and shoot a few rolls and take it from there. Thanks all. Gus.

  11.
I have just purchased a Metz 44 AF-2 digital flash for use on my Leica R8 only. Both the manual for the flash and the camera keep referring to Metz sca 3501 adapter. I have never been much into flash photography but I want to do more of it. From what I am reading in the manuals, it seems that I have to buy a sca 3501 adapter to get full use of the flash unit. Am I assuming correctly? I checked different sources for a sca 3501 with no luck. The seller of the flash unit told me I needed no adapter. That all the programs on the flash and camera will work with out the sca 3501, but the manuals seem to tell another story. Can any one straighten me out on this? Thanks in advance. Gus.

  12.
Does anyone know where I can pick up a metz sca 3501? Need it for my R8. Thanks in advance. Gus.

  13.
Thinking of buying a flash for my M6. Also might use it on my RE and R8. But mostly for the M6. I have beenlooking at Leicas SF20 or the SF24D. I can get a used SF20 for about half of the cost of a used SF24. Any thoughts or input will be appreciated. Thanks. Gus.

  14.
I have the Leica 2 pc. case. It is the perfect answer for me. Top snaps off easely. I carry my M6 mostly with top off. I got mine from Classic Connections in Conn. He carries a lot of used Leica stuff. His phone # is 1-888-534-2272. Gus.

  15.
I now own a M6 that I am very happy with and intend to keep it. But I always wanted to own and use a Leica M with out a light meter. I have been thinking of getting a M4. I have read a few articles on the M4 and they all seem to be positive. I will probably get a Voightlander vc 2 for it. Any comments on the m4? Thanks. Gus.

  16.
I have been checking the different ad sources lately and have not seen any black m6 for sale. Not ready to buy yet, just checking. Have no interest in e bay. Is every body hanging on to there m6? I remember when m6 where very available. The black m6 with .85 seems quite far and few between. Any comments? Gus.

  17.
In the 8th edition of "Leica pocket book" by Hove collectors books it list your M6 as silver-chrome made in 1993. But on page 13 of same book it says "Whilst care has been taken to ensure that the information in this book is as accurate as possible it cannot be guaranteed. For example it should always be noted that production batches often span more than one year so that to date a particular example to a particular year of production is not always possible". It also show the black M6 where also made in 1993. Gus.

  18.
I have been thinking of covering the top on my chrome m6 with black electrical tape to protect it from scratches and wear marks. The bottom part is protected by a leather case. Does any one know of any negative effects of using this tape? The tape will be on there for a long, long time. The leather case is in two parts but I don't like having the top part of the case on. Any info on this? Thanks. Gus.

  19.
Bill, that is the route I am going to take. Either a Summicron 35mm F2 #11309 or a Summicron 35mm F2 #11310. Just got to save up the bucks. Gus.

  20.
Thanks for all the info. After reading all of your post multiple times I decided to stay with the Leica lens for my M6. The main reason is that the larger Zeiss will block out some to the view in the view finder. Since I wear glasses it is tough to see the full frame of 35mm. So to block some of that view out wont work for me. Thanks again for all the info. Gus

  21.
I am planning to buy a Leica 35mm, f2.5 lens for my M6. But looking at the Adarama web site I saw a Zeiss 35mm F2 T ZM Biogen lens for about $1,000 where as the Leica lens is about $1,500. I know nothing of Zeise lens but I am somewhat knowledgable in Leica products. How does this Zeiss compare with Leica? I will only buy one lens for the M6. I do most of my shooting with Leica SLR. Any information on the Zeiss will be appreciated. Should I go for the Zeiss and save about $500 or keep saving my bucks for the Leica? How do they compare? Thanks in advance. Gus

  22.
Just received my M6 "panda" today in mint- condition. This is the 3rd. item that I bought from Classic Connection LLC. The prices have always been fair, item description right on and any phone questions answered intelligently. Now I got to save up the money for a Summicron 50mm, f2 in chrome #11816. Now if you will excuse me, I will go play with my panda. Gus.

  23.
The summicron-r 50 mm, F2 would be my choice for a first lens. I think Keh camera has a couple on stock. What ever lens you buy get the best condition lens that you can afford. Stay away from the beaters. Three companies that I have dealt with and had no problems are Keh camera, B and H photo and Classic Connections in Ct. Another first lens that some would consider is the summicron-r 35mm, F2. Lots of luck and have fun. Gus.

  24.
If you can only afford to buy one Leica M range finder and one lens, which would it be? Only one of each. No digital. Film only. Gus.

    Colorado

I guess I should have mentioned that I lived in So. Calif. for many years and travelled the west quite a lot. But I always for some reason missed Colorado. Except for driving thru once. But now I would like to drive from here, Pa. and do just Colorado. But like you said, David, maybe the fall will be better. Thanks for the info. Gus.
