My FX has a stiffer release than my Tele Rollei also. Rollei's answer was to put a screw in cush button on the release. Does the GX have that also?

Just another thought. Make sure the cable release "sheath" is well connected to the end ferrules.

Hello,
I have found with some cable releases, that they are temperature dependant. What is happening (Rollei cable release) is the outer plastic sheath is becoming limber with heat & stretches preventing a shutter release.
The Rollei pistol grip has an adjustment (knurled screw)to adjust for this. This has happened to me also, so i ensure when the cable is warm it functions well.
I'm not sure but i think earlier cable releases did not use a plastic sheath (or vice versa ?)However, i have one that i trust (Nikon)
Just my 10c worth. Cheers, Larry

Hi, Proof is in the pudding. I'm not a "pro" & this is not a "pro" camera but the results speak for themselves.

Hi,
A great camera for an excellent price. I use it to travel ( very light with a 12X optical zoom & image stabilization !!) & have had no problems with image quality (for a 5 megapixle camera.)
As a bonus i have purchased an adapter on e-bay which allows me to use my Olympus (62mm thread) TCON &WCON lenses to great effect.
The only negative issue, is that LCD screen/viewfinder struggles in low light conditions.
Highly recommended.

Hello,
I have an E-20 but don't use any of the Olympus software packages. I just use a card reader & load direct to my pictures & manipulate with Photoshop or the like.

Gentlemen,
Aristotelis Grammatikakis asked some genuine questions from his peers requiring positive answers. Lets leave the sarcasm & politics out of this forum....surely we have had enough.

Hello,
A digital Panasonic DMC-FZ20........12X optical zoom with optical vibration damping, should cover all your needs. Carry a few batteries & your good to go.Its the best bang for the bucks on the market with an excellent Leica lens. Mine should be here on Thursday as I'm tired of carrying all the trappings of a "system", when travelling.
Check it out !

Hello,
User Rollei wide prices "may" drop, since the new Rollei wide is available (darn expensive though !). An original, in mint condition will conduct a very high price, as it is one of the holy grail's for collectors & is a superb camera.

Hello,
I was considering venturing into large format (4x5.)Would someone
please inform me on the basics of film handling & loading. What would
be the simplest system to start with ? Any relevant input would be
greatly appreciated.
Thanking you in advance, Larry

Wides have the highest demand & tele's depending on # 1 or #2 (120 or 220 film.) Tele 220's go for about $300+ above 120. Condition rules in both these cases, I'm afraid.

Quote :"It's the exact same component".
Minus the radial grooves & the high finish on the base.

Or........buy one of Doug's neg frames. I did & after experimentation with a critical eye..........it was well worth the cost.

ps Thanks for the pos e-bay feedback Doug.

Hi,
I have found that sometimes aftermarket lens threads/bayonets are not perfectly compatible, even though it says on the box. Best to stick with manufacturers attachments to prevent the same occuring........ if possible ?

Hi, Clean the mirror with a clean soft (dedicated) brush while holding upside down (inverted)with sweeping strokes. Restrict your use to limited cleaning.
Do not remove mirror.

Hello,
I have had some excellent results on my Epson 2450 photo, from 2 1/4 & 6x9 with prints larger than 11x14.
The Epson 2450(& later version/s) comes with a negative frame for 4x5.
I would "think" your results with 4 X 5 would far exceed mine ?

Hello,
Those on camera cobbled glass meters aren't worth a good reading in any case. Go with the excellent Minolta meter, measuring incident light, & buy yourself a lens hood with the change.

Many Thanks to you all,
Looks like i will be keeping my 2450 for a while . I will be interested what this new Canon flatbed will do though ?

Hello,
I am the owner of an Epson 2450 & primarily use it for scanning MF
negatives. I am very pleased with the results however, i would like
to upgrade to a scanner that will show a definite improvement for the
least cost. I have read that the results from the 4870 does not show
a "marked" improvement over the 2450 ? Yes, I am already using the
best software available.
Thanking you in advance for your input.

If the mirror is EASILY removable ? The procedure for cleaning delicate optical surfaces is to place a few drops of dish washing liquid ( Palmolive is the best as it leaves little residue.)
With your finger........gently (using a circular motion from the center to the sides)spread the film over the mirror (avoiding direct finger contact....using light pressure.)
Rinse the mirror with tepid tap water & then rinse again with distilled. Allow to air dry & replace.
