If you do go to the butterfly center get there early...The place is so humid and hot your lens/viewfinder will fog up for at least 20 minutes. Oh I have not had much luck at anna ruby or Ammicalola, the best waterfall in GA is Minnehaha falls Google for it.

Call sigma with your lens serial number and see if there are chips left for it to work on the new cameras. We had a Sigma zoom done out of warranty for $40. Cheaper than buying another camera.

I can only use lenses that can fit on a Nikon F mount. I must shoot at 100 ASA only. I must shoot at 1/50 always.
OK, I gotta know why you have these constraints...Some guesses you only have 100asa film? Your camera is broken and only one speed works? Your not gonna have any depth of field shot wide open anyway. Guess there is some reason you cant use a tripod too?

Any of the EOS cameras will give you excellent chromes if you expose properly. The cheap new Rebels will work fine.
-
Since you posted this in the EOS group, it will be hard to find an Adaptall2 in EOS mount other than Bobs here, expect it to not be cheap as few were made.

PN sometime sucks, there is no dedicated forum for Pentax gear.
You sure did not look very hard...
Also, I am wondering if DeJur is good lens manufacturer?
Probably just a cheap rebadged Korean lens.
Any of the 50mm Pentax K mounts are good. Any fixed length Pentax
lens is pretty good, The pentax zooms of that era are not so hot.

Reading thru that he said that paying Canon to replace the shutter a bargain.

When skiing I would carry my Nikon F3 with motor drive on its heavy strap under my ski jacket with the body cap on it. I would keep the lens(50mm or short zoom)in a pocket of my ski jacket zipped up while skiing.

Since your in Italy, you can surely find Manfrotto tripods to check out. Bogen is the same outfit. I use the 719B digi series for $100 US and it is sturdy, compact, black anodized and includes a decent ball head and shoulder bag.

Or can one just go on, without much danger to ruin the lenses?
Well if your day job is a brain surgeon jump right in...
plenty of glass there to scratch, small parts, spring a ball bearing or two, might want to try on a thrift store lens first, you will probably need a few new tools you dont have now also.

The vivitar 283 flash will have plenty of power and great bounce photos are possible. They used to go for about $65.

Look in your owners manual it may say which brand it prefers or a call to Kodak would be a good idea. You may want to call Sandisk also there are plenty of fakes on Ebay usually in the more expensive Sandisk cards. Doubtful you got any warranty thru that Ebay dealer, Just buy a new one locally.

You can already focus as close as 5cm from the front of the lens that should do very well for closeup/macro shots.

Normally I would say Fuji F10/F11 but shooting it on automode is not the best, plus the camera needs post processing for the best pics but the real turn off is the criptic menu system...Go for a Canon A610/620
camera works great in auto, program any of the scene modes and even has more advanced modes if needed. Great menu system also. If that is too big for her try one of the canon SD series, slimmer and lighter.

Try www.rangefinderforum.com. Great helpful folks there.
I have owned all three and would rate them in this order:
Minolta 7sII,GIII,RC. Rated by sharpness and features.
Color is subject to your film processor more than the difference
in these cameras.
-
Not sure how far/long you would be walking but the A610/620 series can do about 600 shots on 2500mah AAs and has a lens of 35-140mm F2.8-F4.1
-
Not sure if you have a typo or not but lets assume you have the new 70-300 IS USM lens and NOT the 75-300 USM lens. The new lens is supposed to be near L level quality in sharpness to start with and may work with the Tamron OK. If you have the other lens, forget it.
-
Your already pretty much at the lightness limits with what you have.
Both lenses are fairly light. Maybe go with 1 lens like the Canon 28-200 USM. But if your doing that much hiking a prosumer digicam like the Canon A620 would do nicely and weigh very little. Amazing battery life also, macro down to 1cm.
-
Looks like your getting a few thousand $$ answers here. I would take the part you need to photograph to your best camera store around and try the various point and shoot digicams to see if they would work for you right there in the store.
Some can focus as close as touching the front lens element.
Nikon Coolpix cameras or Canon A620 cameras may be good choices. CLoseup flash with nikon is better than canon but you can manually adjust canons flash to lower power. This is a $300 solution if it works for you. I am getting some pretty amazing closeups with my Canon A610 camera.

You really need to take it apart clean it and regrease the threads.
These are fun to get unstuck. I had one that defied everything.
Rosinol soaking, acetone and a heat gun. What finally loosened it
was to place it in a small dish and aim a small lamps heat at it.
This warmed the fluid causing it to circulate getting into the threads and disolving the grease. In a couple hours of this treatment you could see green grease in the bottom of the dish. They unscrewed easily after that.

I know a bit about them as two friends of mine own them and I have used them. If they are large and are the F5.6 SP version, they are pretty good. They are long and heavy and work with Tamrons adaptall2
and Tamron teleconverters. Pretty decent quality and can fit many cameras. If it is the old F6.3? version, its not very good.
-
You have the Rubiks cube of tripods. No one yet has figured out how to fold them, a few have found out how to use them and they are not telling.
-
Well, not sure of your deadlines but skipping the E6 processing will save some time. A semipro friend of mine saved $6000 his first year when he went digital on film and processing.Dust may be a problem but you will probably get good at cleaning your sensor. Your EOS30 is called the Elan7 in the USA and if your sigma lenses work on it, they SHOULD work on the new digital camera. With that body they changed the software and sigmas quit working. A call to SIgma with the lenses serial numbers will give you a better answer. Can you rent a digital camera to try first?

They are well worth the money for the nikon or canon 2 element versions.

The Bogen/manfrotto Digi 724B fits the bill for what you need at less than half your budget.
