I don't normally get very many comments so thank you! This was cropped the same way the newspaper here would have croppped it. I wish I had been at a different angle to also get the more of the batters face but that wasn't possible at that point.

    Thanks everyone for your comments!

  1. How did you get all of them to sit still long enough to take a photo? My one cat won't sit still....she see the camera and she runs away :(. Very nice catch here, and as others said, great composition! Also, thanks for the rating on my bat meets ball photo.

    #1: Wheres the ball?

#2: Why take color away? It makes an already lacking photo lack even more

#3: Empty seats - makes for a better background, but makes the photo even more lifeless than the B&W does.

I know baseball is having problems, but this makes it seem completly dead! And no, this doesn't belong in Cooperstown, I delete these types of photos as they are of no value, especially with no ball.

As the ball and bat meet. Interested in comments. This photo is

unaltered other than cropping and resizing for the web.

the arm blocking the players face ruins the shot, it's not one I'd post, nor one a paper would run with.

Unfortunately poor focus and NO ball. Sports that have a ball or puck need to show them in the photo unless it shows some other action such as two players colliding or after game victory & defeat.

I thought about this a while, and honestly the text ruins the whole thing. It's too bad as it looked like a good photo by itself, and would, and should convey the messages without the text.

Well lets see here, after looking at your other childrens photos as well I'd say you have a couple problems here. One is they are all very soft...what lens are you using? Another is poor lighting, this one here is one of those and it looks like you over sharpened or had the ISO cranked way up with all the noise in it. Also the WB is off on this shot, and some of your others.

Nope, no Lensbaby. It was taken with an Olympus C2100UZ and a wide angle adaptor. Apparently the adaptor made the blurr affect. It was the first shot I took with the adaptor and probably the best one with it.
