love the shallow dof you chosed but the flower in the foreground seems a bit oof and the background seems cluttered and distracts away the attention of the main subject, the flower to the left.. juz my 2cents worth eh! ;p

great details captured but too bad the bird was not facing in your direction.. the background is quite messy too and the tiny branch running across right beind the bird is quite distracting too.. juz my 2cents worth eh! ;p

Ela Jakiela, thanks for ur comment! yah i am lamenting my lack of sharpness too.. i was tryin to shoot at more than F/16 but my flash was dying on me and anythin smaller than F/16 would be too dark ah.. so guess that's part of the reason y it wasn't as sharp as it shd be.. ;(
ha, this is my first time being able to get this close to a dragonfly, so there's much for me to learn! ;p

my friend, junyang, and me was about to start hunting for macro
subjects at Bishan park when we saw this fallen butterfly.. its wing
was torn and was flapping around helplessly around.. managed to
capture this last scene of its life..
