1. Not sure if it will fire without film in it but, I'll try it.
 2. So I tried that with the mirror locked up but, it moves so fast that I can't tell if the shutter is actually moving.
 3. I'll try that tonight. Thanks - Steve
 4. Hi Everyone - So I bought a Pentax 6x7 MLU and have shot a few rolls of film through it with no issues. However, all those exposures have been at 1/60th or slower. I shot half a roll today at 1/500th and 1/1,000th and got absolutely nothing - blank frames. The other half of the roll was shot at 1/60th and those exposures look fine. Has anyone experienced this before? Thanks in advance - Steve
 5. Thanks Michael. Your work is very nice. That's about the closest I've seen for the look I'm after. Where do you buy your film? Any special processing advice? Thanks - Steve
 6. I would be wet printing the images on VC fiber based paper. I could give graded paper a shot though.
 7. Also, I was looking more at the "non-portrait" images in the book as examples (which I will try and scan later this evening and post).
 8. Yes, that is correct. The problem I've found though is that using modern cameras and film won't give me that look no matter what type of lighting I use.
 9. I guess I should have explained my self a bit more. I have a book by Dorothy Norman called INTIMATE VISIONS. I looked for her work online to post some examples and could not find much. The photographs have a wonderful, rich, slightly soft feel. I'm going to try to find an example or two and post them.
 10. Hi Everyone - Does anyone know if there is a modern B&W film that gives you the look of the film from the 1940's and 50's? I know this is probably a silly question because there probably isn't such a thing. I know printing paper had something to do with it as well as lenses. I guess I'm wondering if there is a film that isn't quite as sharp... Thanks - Steve
 11.
Robert - The tank doesn't have a leak because I processed a current roll with the expired rolls and it was fine - no fogging whatsoever. I've also used that tank for years and had no problems. The room was completely dark - I've processed thousands of rolls of film in there.

 12.
Glen - even if the film was stored in a drawer for a long period of time? I mean, that makes sense because the end of the film (the part that would be closer to the outside of the spool) has more fogging. It just surprises me because it was in a drawer in my darkroom.

 13.
Hi Everyone -

I processed some old Fuji Acros 100 today and I noticed it is fogged at the edges with the worst of the fogging at the end of the roll. My question is, does 120 film fog (from age) at the edges first? Has anyone experience this? I can't seem to find any information about it online.

Thanks. Steve

 14.
O.K., so it let me post the image. The film on the right is the fogged film. The film on the left was shot at the same time but processed right away. That's what I've been using as my comparison.

 15.
So I shot an image of the film on my light table. However, it won't let me post it. I went to insert the image and it asks for a URL. The image is on my desktop. I've never posted an image here. Is there something I'm missing?

 16.
Jochen - It was not expired when it was shot. I'm not sure how close it was to expiration but I never shoot expired film. Don't know if that helps or not.

 17.
Hi Everyone -

I found four rolls of TMAX 400 in the back of my drawer and processed it the other day. I can tell by the subject matter that it was shot about 5-6 years ago. I processed it normally in Sprint developer and it has a fair amount of fogging - nothing so bad they can't be printed but it is noticeable. I kind of thought fogging wouldn't be an issue with film that was only shot 5-6 years ago.
Does this sound normal?
By the way, the film was not stored in adverse conditions. The temperature was consistent and was not high.

Thanks In Advance - Steve
