Thanks, Jim. Being there was fun, and I should give credit to the performers, Spunn website. I am not a member, just a satisfied spectator.

Suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

Thanks for looking and making suggestions.

Barry and Matthew - Thanks.

Like the others have said, very nice. This really pops.

Amdar - Yeah, you're right. She was moving too fast for me to get the top. I'll go back today and try again.

Should this be cropped? Thanks for any suggestions?

I appreciate suggesstions. Thanks.

Following this discussion has been an education for me on various techniques for enhancing a photo. Thanks to all.

Andi and Flemming - thanks for looking and taking the time to comment. The black bump in the middle is bothering me more than anything else.

Wish I didn't have that blur in the lower left corner, so it goes. Also in color. Thanks for
suggestions.

Jani -
Your work is really moving into different directions. I am looking forward to seeing how your understanding of light and composition will evolve and affect your work with landscapes and portraits. The technique is there, and bringing those technical skills into the photographic worlds where emotions are involved and stories are told, that will be a very cool thing for me to see and appreciate.

Tremendous power and expression. Thanks very much.

Jani and Donald - Wow, 95% of my photography is outdoors and 100% is with available light, so the things ya'll know about catalog/tabletop photography and lighting blows me away. What a different world, not better or worse but different.
I know, Jani, you're just keeping busy until spring arrives so I'm just messin' wit' ya.

You nailed this one! Very nicely done. A presentation where we could see both images side-by-side would be cool.

A cropped, lightened version

Jani - It was snowing and very windy. I kept the camera tucked under my jacket with a lens cap on and only pulled it out to quick focus and shoot. Even so there were snowflakes on the lens and I had to PS them. Crop-wise, this is full frame. I want to think about this more. It's one in a series (more than 100 so far) of bikers in Chicago and yesterday I hung 35 prints at a popular bar & grill, including a portrait version of this shot with the bikers head at about 10 o'clock!

What an awesome view, a flooded street but it looks so peaceful and calm, almost friendly instead of the storm you describe. I guess the 4am shoot makes a big difference since you were the only cat around, eh? Have you submitted this to local periodicals for publication? The sharpness and colors certainly make this publication-worthy. Very impressive.

Jani, hmm, interesting take on Chris' work, and black is very important in his work. In any case, I think that one appealing dimension of your portraits is their joy and humor, something quite useful in the long, dark Finnish winter, right? Indoor photography doesn't interest me very much, but it looks like you're doing a good job of working that new camera.

This is a fun shot! Looks like you had an enjoyable session with Alina. The portrait photog I really like on PN is Chris Blaszczyk (sp?). Worth a look if you don't already know him right here
