Nice picture. One thing you might have done to make it more dramatic was to change the angle a bit so the mountains in the back are gone. I know that would mean maybe ruining the perspective of the house itself. It's all a balance I guess, eh? :) Either way, it's a nice picture. It's just the mountains bug me because they flow into the house. Without the mountains, it would be this really dramatic lone house.

..or whatever we'd call it? :) I like it. Most folks are too busy figuring out how to fill in the entire space with image. You have decided to try and figure out how much of the image is necessary to convey the mood. Subtractive vs. Additive. Very nice.

Interested in critiques on all aspects of this Infrared photo. Is the
foreground too blown out where the sun is shining? Is the image too
complex? Should the main tree trunk be more to the right or left? Etc.
etc. All critique welcome.

I like architecture photos and I like how you made it look like an old photo you'd maybe find a book from the late 1800s or early 1900s where photos and artwork were always put on seperate plates inside the book. Sometimes how you present the photo can make a plain photo have more character and transport the viewer towards another mindset and feeling.

I took this picture using my Coolpix 995 which has been modified to
only do Infrared photography. This is one of the first shots I took
with modified camera. I'm very pleased with the results that this old
3.3 mp camera gives. I would like to know what others think.

Should I crop out the bottom horizontal rooftop? Any other criticism
welcomed!

Wasn't really going for anything. I do a lot of snapshots while I'm walking around town and this just happened to be one of them. I can't remember what my brother was doing but I focused on his head and then moved the camera, keeping that focus setting and then snapped the shot. This kept everything in that area in focus, while causing the time-lapse blurry ghosty look.

Very nice. You have captured exactly what the eye sees very well. It is hard to capture fog and mist. You have done a good job doing it. I could see this picture really huge on a wall in a big mansion. :)
