I'm not quite sure how useful this is for you, but I have been using: <a href="http://www.bookfinder.com">www.bookfinder.com</a>. Not a bookstore per se, but a sort of hub for finding books. I have found a lot of out-of-print books through this site.

Hello, Andrew. Believe it or not, I used that WC when I was in Marugame a few years ago... I noticed its odd facade -- very strange to see it again. Thanks for sharing the pics.

Eric, this is great... Reminds me of the 'Now' compilation cassette tapes that I enthusiastically listened to as a kid... All the greats were on them.
I'll keep coming back to the page, I'm sure. Thanks a lot.

Great interview. Thomas, thanks for the link. There seems to be loads of good stuff in there.

No no.. Donald, I am sorry for throwing these questions at you, and I am very grateful for your answer. I am very curious about what other people see...
So, are you in Takamatsu area? The udon capital of Japan?

<i>That having been said I'm pretty well convinced that the tatami shop photos need to be in B/W.</i><br><br>I think that there is something here... May I ask why you feel that way? Love the sunglasses...

Rather than the 'what' or 'how' to document (or whether something is considered 'documentary' photography), I question the 'why'... Why are you compelled to document something? Koudelka shot empty streets during the 1968 Soviet invasion of Czechoslovakia and titled it: "The Urge to See"... and not The Urge to Document.... <br><br><i>Photography is not about the thing photographed. Does his first name happen to be Siddhartha?

Sorry for my ignorance, but who is that?
My art teacher's name was Ms. Campbell, I think... She taught art at a high school in a small town called Rochester, in Kent.

Trevor. Why don't you post them if you like them. I for one, would love to see work like that.
Again, I don't think any subject can be 'lame' per se, and yes, I will shoot anything, anywhere, anytime, for I want to see things photographed.

Jeff, yeah. For me, Daido is one of the first one that comes to mind regarding that. My art teacher told me: 'If you think something's boring, it's your mind that's boring'<br><br>Card board...<br><br><center><img src="http://www.takaakiokada.net/images/november/images/2004_11_13_17.jpg"></center>

<i>Jeff: "I think what makes this work is that there is a focus other than random postings..."</i><br><br> Indeed... and personally, I have found the <a href="http://www.photo.net/bboard/policy?topic_id=2061">about page</a> quite useful.

<i>makes me want to move to Japan..</i><br><br>Same here.. Just have to ask Steve if he's willing to provide us some food and accomodation.<br><br>I had one design instructor who told me to look at other works for inspiration. Other told me to steal ideas from design annuals. Another told me not to look at any other design work at all, and find inspiration elsewhere... I try to accomplish all of the above.

Definitely worth seeing is a series of photographs Robert Frank shot in Coney Island on the Fourth of July, 1958. I could only find one here, but I'm sure there's more on the web.<br><br><a href="http://www.metmuseum.org/toah/hd/phev/hob_2002.273.htm">Robert Frank: Fourth of July, Coney Island</a>
