Google hits (logically) relate to help with problems with Nikon equipment

Except the results were for froogle, not google. Froogle you would use for searching prices, not problems. Either way it's still an interesting factoid and not much more.

Thanks for the info, and justifying my want of the 35...
Is there any difference between the AI and AIS version of the 35mm f1.4?
Rock on,

Ok, I need to spend my xmas bonus...
I have a Nikon FA with 35-135mm, 50mm f1.4, 55mm f2.8 micro. I really
enjoy taking available light photos of people. When I do landscape I
usually take my digital.
Where am I lacking? I really am interested in the 35mm f1.4, I think
it would be cool for street photo, available light stuff. Or would a
28 be better?
Rock on,

I like the 50mm f1.4 ais and I also can't say enough about the 35-135 ais.
Also if you are interested, a manual camera is fun. I went from shooting with a fully auto maxxum to a FA and it's a nice change. I feel like more of the process. But whatever floats your boat.

Thanks for all of the info. With a matte focusing screen is it similar to an AF screen, where you just attempt to get teh whole image sharp as possible?
Thanks,

Thanks all for the responses. I'll check the not-all-the-way on thing when I get home.

I may not have the right terminology, but the top half of the split
focus circle deal on my FA is black, sometimes.
When it's black if I turn the camera vertical it works fine, back to
horizontal, back to black.
No real trend as to when this happens that I can figure. I have a
35-135 AIS on there when this happens. Any idea how I can stop this?
Thanks again,

John - I just got my father-in-laws FA in September. Its an awesome camera. I sold my brand new minolta and all of its lenses because it was so much nicer.

I was just given a nice md-15, anyone know where I can find the manual
in PDF form?
Thanks!

Rob- Take a vacation, not from shooting, but take a trip somewhere and take pictures of new things, people, place, sunsets. That usually does it for me.
Try a new subject matter, do you shoot mostly landscapes? Well time to shoot people or sports.
Just my $0.02

Thanks for the info guys. I just got the 50 1.4 and it's a great lens with a great bokeh.

Can you use this lens other than macro? Just got my hands on one...

I just sold all of my Minolta gear, switched to Nikon. I have an FA and my first purchase was the 50mm f1.4 AI lens.
This lens blows away my minolta 50mm f1.4 I don't know why. But my first roll through it with the 1.4 mostly shot at f1.4 is amazing.

Thanks for the info.

Let me just say this first, I'm not up on my flash knowledge. But I am
new to nikon and love my FA. So...
I have a Nikon FA and also a metz 34 CS2 which I am thinking using
together. What in camera settings would I need for this?
Or should I skip it and use TTL of say the metz AF3 or a nikon flash.
If so what flash do you like?
Thanks for any help.

Nick- I think the 7 is what you are after.
But I'm selling my 24-85, 50 f1.4, and 70-210 plus maxxum 5. So hey if you want any of them send me an email!

Thanks so much for the info guys.

I'm new to Nikon, just got a FA with 35-135 from my Father in law. And
it is a blast to use.
I have been using a Minolta Maxxum 5 with 50mm f1.4 and like the shots
I get. But now I see Nikon makes a 1.2...
So I ask you which lens to get 501.4 or the 1.2. And if that do I go
AI/AIS? What it the difference?
Thanks.
-Joe
PS If you are interested, I want to sell my Maxxum 5 and lenses to
fund more Nikon gear, I'll trade too. Contact me if you live in
Boulder to check it out.

I had a RIO player just like this. You probably need to try the "ultra" duracell, it is about 2mm larger than a normal AA. But I haven't tried it on your camera. Give it a shot.

Thanks, it's the 49mm filter size. So I guess it's the older version.

Joe- I know you are not asking about this lense, but I have the 35-135 AIS and it is a great lens. It is my first nikon lense, but it is sharper than my equivalent minolta lens.

I am happy with the 5, it is a very cheap camera but works very well.
