<p>I have been using a Giottos QU305B-1004 tripod for hking, mountain biking and backpacking. It is very sturdy and gives you about 16" lift off the ground.<br>

<p>Hello All- I have been using a Canon S95 for taking pics for the last few years. I usually take it with me on hikes and mountain biking. But lately I have been wanting more...<br>

I checked out the OM-D at my local shop and am really impressed. I think pairing it with the 17 or 20 would make a portable action cam with better shots than my S95. <br>

I had one concern, do you think the OM-D will be able to handle the shocks of being in a backpack while cycling? </p>

<p>Like everyone else said, the Canon S100. I have an S95 and previously and S90. The low light performance is awesome. The only draw back it has is that the macro is not great. Everything else is top notch.<br>

99 out of 100 times I leave the Nikon DSLR at home and bring the S95. <br>

<p>Get the 35mm f1.8. I just got it and its great.</p>

<p>For the kind of shooting I do, a lens is more useful than a flash.</p>

Get the D50. You will love it! I just got one and think it is fantastic. I had a Leica Digilux and all of my pics required post processing to get them to look right. Shots out of tghe D50 are great.

I just picked up a D50 and I put my 55 AIS Macro lens on it, so easy to use, sure you fire off one or two frames to get the right exposure, but once you are in the right meter range you are fine. Go for it!

I cannot say enough about the Kodak 400CN for scanning. It's C-41, but it scans so much better.

I have a canon 8400F. It scans 4 slides, 12 negs, or 4 medium format at a time, as well as a flatbed. It's cheap $150, and works great. 3200 dpi.

I have the 50mm f1.4 AI and it is an awesome lens. I could not be happier with it. If you want to use a lens in low light without flash this lens is it.

The FA is silent? Mine sounds like someone dropped a lawn chair when I click the shutter. But it's a welcome sound, I was tired of people saying "Did you take the picture?" when I use my Leica.
