  1. I have been shoot my kis with G2 + 28, 45, 90 for a while.

Love all of them. (Slide of all 3 lens feel warmer than Hasselblad)

After search on the web, some G2 user prefer travel with 35-70.

I prefer 28 for indoor which is faster and wider.

Most G2 users like 45 or even love it.

90 is 2 stop faster (less DOF), I don't have problem with the focus but might be tricky sometime (paper thin DOF at 1M).

With almost same amount of money, I would go for Biogon 21mm.

Classic design, really nice. Feel good to own one.

Might not shoot lots picture with it though.

Right now any of my lens is sharper than my eyes.

Wish my eyes will get "sharp" sooner so my wife let me spent more money on new lens.

  2. In Taipei, quite many photographers doing wedding, full time or part time.

The skin tone is not archieve by color or light. Mostly make up and post process. So it may not be the problem with your technique.

    Few things here,

    1. They mostly shoot in color neg. with soft(ar) filter which tend to make skin a little light and smooth. Mamiya 645 or Hasselblad V

    2. Have pro for makeup, light smooth skin tone

    3. Outdoor shoot with reflector mostly, by assitant

    4. Indoor shoot with almost identical setup

    5. Special Lab process wedding photo, if you tell them it is wedding photo, they usually increase by one or two stop even it is slight underexposure to make it look like some sort of high key creative tech not photo tech error (grain is not really a problem cause it reduce resolution).

    6. The album are custom made by factory , not avairable elsewhere.

    7. Picture are cold matte and put in the album by people who do wedding album mostly

It is not creative wedding bussiness but mass wedding production mostly.

Almost every wedding couple can spend between US$800 to US$1,500 to get one. Include all the dress rental. Some may even cost twice more, better but not really that good in creative. All the portraite look same without showing much of the character of the wedding couple.

  3. Forget one thing, many people will suggest this book,

The Hasselblad Manual Fifth Edition by Ernst Wildi.

    I have two.

Detail about Camera, Lens, etc, nothing about digital.

Amazon have it both new and used.

This book is not cheap so does Hasselblad.

Even the camera/lens price is low now because many gone for digital.

Sitll not as cheap as mamiya, bronica.

  4. How long when you say fairly long time?

Many people still use 500 series camera that older than I am.

If digital back is the key concern in few years.

They both accept digital back now from serveral makers, but might be tricky compare with other product line/ brand such as H1, Contax, etc. Do some web search and check with digital back maker's before get the camera and lens. How it work and things like that, may change in the future(few years). Still give you some idea.

For digital, CFE lens might be required alone with some accessories.

I have 503CW, very happy with it. Love to have a digital for it if I can afford. But still love it very much without.

  5. Check

    1. As long as the "auxiliary shutter" fully open when you press the shutter release

    2. Also looking into the light to see if there is leak of light,

If open fully and no leak than it is ok.

Load the film and take some pictures.

From "The Hasselblad Manual Fifth Edition" by Ernst Wildi

    page 27

    The Auxiliary Shutter

The purpose of the auxiliary shutter at the rear of the lens shutter SLR camera is to protect the film from light coming through the lens and viewfinder before and after the picture is made. When the release is pressed, the top baffle plate flips up and the bottom plate down; they stay in this position until the pressure is taken off the release. The baffle cannot be easily damaged. They can be pushed inward, for example, without damaging the plates or the camera mechanism.
