I looking for a specific article I read few years ago on the 'net. It was about
photographing two rings, one in the foreground one in the background. The
article told detailed informations about the lighting setup and a few words
about the digital post-process.
I found many articles via the google but not this very one. If anyone could help
me to found it again I would be really happy.
Thanks

I believe the indirect, bounced flash would give you the flexibilty you need to take pictures of the moving-all-the-time kids. Big stuffs are always blocking you, just like the static lights, flashes.
There are bouncers (google for lumiquest) to apply on the flash too.
Anyway the natural light is a good chociche at all the time.

The pictures are looks okay for me, can not se any problems with it. Probably a wider lens could give little extra "presence" due the closer shots, try the cheap 18-55 EF-S. I doubt it worth buying external flash. I would try to capture pictures 1/10-1 sec exp. and f/4-8 with flash, It would give some dynamics...or not :)

Here are a few recent shots of me. As you already answered the flash is usually simply flattens the things, especially in a small stage such it was - a high-school evening event. The bassist is a friend of me so I went to take some pics.
Note the drummer, the long exposure and the movement sometimes could help.
I used the high iso the fast lens and image stabiliser too, depending on the cicrumstates, check the exif info.
And of course all the comments are welcome.

Well, I went to the shop and checked this masterpiece :) It made in Germany looks quite new. It has two apertures marked 5.6 and 11 but any aperture can be set between these values. Is has 1/25, 1/75 and B times.
I expected more :(

I just passed by a camera store (it is almost midnight here so it was
closed :)) and found a nice piece of camera. The price card said
"fonix 6x6" - it should be phoenix 6x6 in english.
I have no idea what camera it is. It is more like a Kodak retina not
like the pentacon six or mamiya rb/rz 67.
Any help really appreciated :)

The met-art looks a good source for ideas, especially the recent galleries.

So far only the tapes considered to be safe for long term data storage. Hoever for the better safety every backup should be doubled. In our practice our backup ends a "backup copy" session which copies and checks the actual backup tapes. The copy ones then moved offsite storage and kept for years just like the local ones.
I don't know if tapes checked reguraly but should. A simple read check would suffice I think.

I plan to shot a modell with silk or satin mantle on her. I think I
will need soft lights (big softboxes) but not sure about the material.
I love the shiny satin but I am sure much more difficult to take a
well balanced photo.
She has curly black hair so I will need some backlight, I believe.
Any experiences or sample photos/light setups are welcome.

I have a vosonic vp3310. Very statisfied, except the short battery life.
Colour LCD to preview the images would rellay waste of money. Just like the mp3 player an other extra features is.

It is worth a look on the imgSeek.

A stylist to tell me how to see the modell? Or a stlyst whom I tell how I would like to see the modell?

Thank you all for the answers.
A few more day of thinking led me to the following result:
- the ligthing was bad. there were shadows emphasizing her strong charater
- the make-up was done by her, it was also a bad choiche
- the lens was okay I had good shots with my 70-200
- and something is more important, the atmosphere of the photographing was far from the perfect probably due the first time panick.
I looking forward for the next one.

A few days ago had a photography session with a friend of me. I always
found her really attractive, beautiful, sometimes shocking, so I asked
her to be my model for photography.
Since it was her "real" act she was really shy in the first hour (it
is allrite, I expected it), so I used my digital camera only. Later
she become more comfotrable, I picked up my film camera. Nothing unusual.
The surprise come after I picked up the contacts and first sighted the
pictures. She was not beautiful. Ok, was not ugly or something but all
delicate feautres of her was missing. Large nose, pale skin, bad pose
(strained, tense), thin mouth and so on. I have about 5 shots of her
which are acceptable (I made 10x15 prints only, it would be just waste
money to make it larger).
I understand the first attempt being model is always really difficult,
it is all right. But the turn from a beautiful gir to an average in
the picures was surprising. She has strong personality and it is fakes
the human eyes but not the camera. Hoever those 5 shots are showing
something about her.
Question? I think I have no one. But would happy to hear is someone
had same or opposite experiences, how to deal this problem, what is
the solution... or basically, how to find a right modell?

The bidpay sends checks to the address I describe them. It was worked me several times, except now. Such is the life :)
-
About two months ago I tried to subscribe to the photo.net via bidpay.
I did understand the risk of loosing money is mine but I decided to
try. I have sent the money, the bidpay told me it have been delivered
to the photo.net but my account did not change. I sent a message via
the "Contact us" link, but received no answer.
I am not complaining about not being a subscriber, but I would like to
receive at least an email answer, like we are sorry we got no money
from you.
Anyway I still like this site :)
Thanks

Okay, something is still not clear for me. Are the 36 exp. rolls better quality? Or just so called professional material? If the film loaded inside is the same I keep shooting the 24 exp. rolls until it is comfortable for me.
-
My apologies, I am sure someone already asked this question but the
google did not help me.
Why is the 24 exp. films are the the "amateur" and the 36 exp. films
are the professional films? Mostly I having problem to shoot all the
36 exposures, the 24 would be more comfortably to me.
Allrite, I am not a pro :D

...and uploaded a example without any problem. Shot with a 100 f2
-
For the easier evaluation I just put marks on the pics. I have used the center focus point only.
I also uploaded a new picture of a dog.
-
Regarding the horsehead: the crop shows the focused leaves and the out of focus horsehead not the actual focusing area.
Reagrding the sitting girl: I had enough time to take the shots carefully. I have about 5-6 pics with the same result. I even tires to focus on the ground before girl but without any success.
I am quite sure this focusing problem - on these examples - not because of my error.

Yes, I am. Thats why I posted the full images (dowscaled hoever). Does anybody have actual information regarding the AF sensor size of the 300D? I can see the sensor holes in the body but not sure about the active area.
