1.
here's a brand new one:

not sure I totally agree about the unreliability of all earlier Minoxes. I have had a 35GT for 25 years that still works as well as the day I bought it. I think it's luck of the draw really. Great cameras of course!

  2.
Both 100 asa, but don't forge they were well past their best! I certainly exposed them as 100 asa and the camera was a Minox IIIs. As I say some of the scans were less sharp than others but it's hard to tell whether that's my fault or it's down to the difficulty of the scanning process. It's nice to be able to use the Minox again reasonably economically after all this time!

00ZD3H-390973584.jpg.ec2ae56528ef5c038c4dbc09eabbeaed.jpg

  3.
Just got my two films back, one minocolor one minopan, both well past their develop by date! It's great that this service has become available and I would urge everyone to use it. The results I got were variable as all my minox efforts have been in the past! Some out of focus shots, some of which may be user error but I do think some may be an issue of keeping the film flat during scanning, maybe caused by the length of time the film had been in the camera (several years!). I'll certainly use the service again and thank Steve and the team in Burnley for the effort in making it possible!

00ZD1T-390959584.jpg.9f52004ef440ac3b438558601848c641.jpg

  4.
nice picture! I've had a bit better success rate with the little camera over the last couple of weeks and am continuing to add pics to my blog listed above-I'm finding it lots of fun and although the camera doesn't quite have the quality feel of my Minox A it's a lot easier to take a quick snap and upload it-I think the concept of the camera is basically sound and maube they could develop it further. I'd be happy to pay £500 for a camera this size and design that took sharp, well balanced photos and was built to higher standards.

  5.
Well I've just picked one of these up and it's not plastic but it might well be junk! It actually feels very nice in the hand and i really like the idea of going out with the camera and only attaching the flash/screen when you get home to review the images you've taken. I also like the minimal controls.
In fact I was going to set up a blog with pictures taken by this camera but unfortunately after a week I've yet to take a sharp and correctly exposed photo. The colours are way off and really just about any camera phone takes much better photos. I'll persevere with it as it's a nice item which has something of the feel and look of a proper minox-just needs a better lens and sensor!

  6. Well I'm afraid you were mugged! I get my films developed and scanned by return of post for 3.25 each by a company called photo express (www.photo-express.co.uk/) (including post) Quality is fine and the scans are big enough to make decent prints from and certainly big enough to evaluate quality - they send them back to you the day they receive them. Hope this helps make an M8 seem more expensive!

  7. Just last week I bought a nice boxed example with guarantee from a Leica dealer for 595

-at that sort of price I just couldn't resist but it does show that prices have tumbled and

may fall at least a little further before they bottom out -I think there will always be a

higher value for this camera as it could well be a future classic

    cheers

    Simon

  8. well I stand corrected, it's an almost unique fault, The text of the email i got from CRR

    of Luton is as follows:

The fault with your M6 is probably due to a faulty transisitor. Hopefully it is not

    the

integrated circuit. The timing of the meter is controlled by a discrete transistor which

is switched by the 'IC' chip and this may have gone o/c. The cost to rectify it would be

    about 40gbp

hope this helps
