Yes they're excellent -have used them for prints from all sorts of digital cameras as
well as prints from Leica scans -there's something quite fun about taking pictures
with a seventy year old camera and then scanning the negs and getting prints sent
through the next day from photobox. Also if you register with them you get a free
online album to store your pictures as well as letting friends/colleagues order copies
of your prints by letting them have access to your page. It's also worth buying a block
of prints upfront as this reduces the cost of everyday 6x4.5 prints. I've had nothing
but good experiences with them and their packaging is similarly excellent!

The same problem with higher shutter speeds is also present
on my SL despite it having been serviced last year - the answer
is to try not to leave the camera with the shutter cocked but it can
be an annoying fault. Apart from this they are excellent cameras
and they can be had for a bargain price relative to an M

Don't know if this is of any relevance but I have never been able to
upload a photo to ebay with aol. I have found that I have to sign on
to aol and then launch internet explorer on top. If I then go into
ebay I can load photos onto the auction site with no trouble. There's
obviously something weird in the way the aol browser handles photos. I
only mention this because if Al has problems loading photos to this
board it might be an idea to try this

I wonder if any knowledgable soul out there can help with this. I have
recently bought a 1940 Leica IIIC with a red shutter blind which has
been converted to IIIF black dial specification. The chap I bought it
from said it had belonged to his father who'd had it since the 1950s.
It's in nice order but the slow speeds need a service. On doing a
little web related research I discovered that Leica always replaced
the red shutter blinds when cameras were returned for service. My
question is then how can it be that mine has a proper IIIF conversion
and still retains the red blinds. The vendor told me it hasn't been
used for thirty years so I don't think red blinds have been added

Hi, I have exactly the same problem with my M6 - I had an estimate of 40GBP to get it
fixed and a diagnosis of a faulty transistor but haven't bothered as like you i just turn
the meter off by turning it to the B setting. Also of course if you don't advance after
shooting then the meter is off as well. I guess this is quite a common problem with
the M6 and although it's a nuisance it doesn't alter the performance of the camera in
any way!
