@Stephen Lewis: Built in hood is the type 5, right, and not type 4, i'm asking about?

-

When i say good condition, i mean that the optics is flawless (no scratches and/or dust as i can see) and it show some minor signs of use. Overall i would say about 8/10 condition. It hasn't been serviced/cleaned for some years, though.

By the way it's the Canada-edition.

As far as i understand, it's one of few Leitz optics where a small part of the lens is made of plastic. Any concerns about this?

I've been offered a Leitz Summicron 50 mm f/2 type 4, but how much should i pay for it? How much is it worth?
As far as i know it's in a good condition - both overall condition and optical condition without scratches.
Just how good is the Type 4 version of the 50 mm Summicron?
How much should i be willing to pay for it? Any suggestions regarding minimum price versus maximum price?
Is there something i should know about the Type 4 in particular?
Thanks in advance.

PS: It will be used on a Leica M6 camera, mainly b/w.

Just my thoughts, Rick. I will rather spend my money on a decent film camera rather than on a digital camera, who is almost out of date when it reaches the shops.

On thing is for sure: I will never invest in a digital Leica, as long as the company don't offer us buyers to buy just the image engine/processor every second year, when a new model hits the market, but keeps pushing us to buy a whole new camera for USD 6.000.

I will rather buy a film camera - that is of course if film will be available for quite some years from now on.

Anyone from the photo film industry in this forum, that can shed some light on the question?

I've been thinking for 2-3 years now, whether i should invest in a brand new Leica M7 or MP for 5.000 dollars, which is a fair amount of money.
But the question, that keeps coming back to me is, for how long the film as media will be available? I don't want to invest in a camera, if it useless in few years.
Do you have any thoughts about the question?

I've just found 8 rolls at my home of Fuji Provia 100F that i think i did shoot back in 2003/2004. Unfortunately i did forget the rolls and they are not processed.

All these years the film has been in a dark closet in my living room, which mainly is 20-22 degrees celsius, but some few times 25-30 degrees celsius, maybe about 40-50 days all these years.

What's the lifetime of the Fuji Provia 100F film exposed but not developed? Does it make any sense for me to get it processed now, 9-10 years later?

Any of you have any good advice on highly respected institutes offering an online degree in photojournalism?
Kind Regards

Hi!
I've been offered a second hand Canon Eos-1D, from a person that also
buyed it second hand.
Can i/the seller self check, how many exposures the camera has been
used for, so i don't have to spent 100 quit, to send it to a service
center?
If yes: How?
