I'm going to back off of the use-my-ltm-lenses-on-digital idea.

I have Cosina-Voigtlanders LTM in 15mm, 24mm, 35mm, 50mm and 75mm (that's why I wanted to do it), But I don't want to go for a Leica for only a few years shooting. Any suggestions about selling them off would be welcome. CameraQuest is full up with LTMs in his inventory these days.

(I hope I'm not breaking a rule by asking sales question.)

I never used the thermometer, having heard of them breaking during agitation. I've used the handles of plastic chopsticks. The square handles allowed me to spin the agitator while pumping it.

Vibrating things weren't easily available in 1970-71.

I think I know how to set the asa on the meter. The meter readings stay the same no mater what iso i set. Anyone have this happen. Also the camera makes quit a winding noise when advancing the film, especially at lower speeds. Is that normal?

As I recall, the Minox B made a slight winding noise when closing it the last few millimeters of the return stroke. That was the winding noise that I heard when I first bought it in 1970.

That said, you should get it serviced. If Don Goldberg still does it, he was the best. There are others via Google search. The meter is not powered; the bimetal mechanism loses accuracy of be time. You should ask if it can be renewed or otherwise adjusted. The aperture is constant, so the meter adjustment is very basic by reading the scales. You should check accuracy with a good meter or a good camera's meter.

We retired and now are downsizing.

I thought of selling my LTM equipment, then had a second thought.

What digital cameras might I buy that can use my LTM lenses (15mm, 24mm, 35mm, 50mm, 70mm)? Are adapters available? Has anyone done this successfully?

I know I can get a good LTM/M3 adapter, but what digital cameras can take an M-3 mount?

Or, would two adapters work? (One for the lens and onf ro the camera.)

Since I'm downsizing, smaller and lighter than my old SLR would be great.

<p>First camera I ever used and I took some really fine photographs with it. Got the film developed at the corner drugstore. Picked up a used contact/rolling developer to make prints, and they didn't fade all that quickly.<br>

Of course, that was in the 50's, and I'm back at the point where I want a camera for which I don't have to use my eyesight to focus.</p>

<p>I bought a K7, but them all my lenses are Pentax. If all your lenses are Canon, get the Canon (which I know nothing about).<br>

<p>As a former nursing home administrator, as someone whose father was in a nursing facility, and as -- I hope -- a decent human being, I'd say that you should go somewhere else and respect the dignity of residents of senior facilities. They have quite a bit of oversight, so if you are looking to muckrake, it's not fertile territory.<br>

Instead, find some homebound people, make friends with them, help them find steady sources of food and health care, and tell their stories. Treat them with dignity and you will find your own integrity in what you are doing.</p>

<p>Martin, I just had my Minox B serviced by DAG, checked the meter and it's close on against the Gossen, and bought film from Blue Moon. Birthday was early this week and I figure I deserve tomorrow with my little 8x11.<br>

Blue Moon also sells and processes 127, so the Baby Brownie just may get its shutter exercised and loaded up with the next round of film puchase.</p>

<p>5-10 minutes to significant heat when I pulled the plug. No way it charged fully. I'm inclined to go after the Maha line of chargers and batteries as Howard mentioned before.<br>

My first SLR was a Spotmatic in 1969, so it takes me a short while to catch on.</p>

<p>If on a Sunday I put 4 fully charged Radio Shack 1800 MnH batteries into my Pentax DS, and on Friday I scoop it up, turn it on and see a half charge, is this normal? If normal, then nothing wrong with the batteries or camera and I'll act accordingly, but a half charge was a bit surprising. (this, BTW, was what prompted my automobile charging experiment post a short while ago).</p>

<p>Polarity was corrrect. The car was running. The voltages match, although I do understand from the charger specs that the charger will output 5.6 v four a load of four batteries, which is only slightly below the care output voltage.<br>

If my Jr. High School Physics come back to me correctly, the amperage is a measure of the load that a circuit carries, not the strength. Anyway, that thing, tries with another set of 4 1.2 v 18000mAh batteries and that sucker got hot.</p>

<p>I found an adapter that would plug into the car cig outlet. and then plug into my Radio Shack quick charger which has a rated input of 12v .800 mA. Then I plugged the other end into the Radio Shack charger with 4 AA NiMH batteries aboard.<br />It got a bit hot -- then it got hotter. No fool, I, I pulled the plug. The car manual says that most auto batteries hit 12 volts, but also hit 45 amps, which is more than a quantum leap from o.800aM inputlisted on the charger case.<br />Any suggestions out there, aside from taking a heat reading when the battery charger melts into the carpet? I'd like to be able to charge these AA batteries in the car while traveling.</p>

<p>I bought as a substitute a Pentax S4i, 4 MP, fits in an altoid tin, has optrical VF and blows up fine to 8x10. I figured that would be my digital Minox.<br>

Then, of course I had my Minox B CLA'd by DAG and will be using it in NYC next week. <br>

<p>That's a lot of travel. Travel light. If you need something to fill the frame more, walk forward. If you need more in the frame, walk backward. Did I mention travel light? It'll be warm weather, and ideally a travel kit should fit in your pockets.<br>
