    See also here for a a similar (but more cliche) view of Half Dome.

     

    There is a lot of somewhat boring sky here. Maybe experiment with cropping away most of the sky and trying to get the viewer to focus on Half Dome by sunset.

    Maybe a strange image to critique as this is merely an unposed image

    of my brother-in-law Eric. Taken outside, with some film grain added

    digitally to stress the B&W look.

    More than just another water-with-slow-shutter-speed image. But the top few millimeters are a bit irritating: would have liked to see a bit of the sky. Now the while line might be the sky, or may be cut off just before the sky. 6/5

    Although I knew this was Hawaii, I had no idea what the scale was or what I was seeing until I discovered the 3 people in the middle. Actually it even looked like there was ocean and waves between the rocks. These are just problems of having a really small image: in a big image, the message probably becomes impressive.

    Aestetics could be improved by avoiding reflection of window and giving the taxi on the right some more room. But gret originally and great simplicity of color. What do these taxi do when you don't pay them go in circles ;-)

    Thanks for the kind feedback. For the record: the picture was taken from a window in the Haya Sophia church/mosque (foreground) and shows the Blue- or Sultan Ahmet Mosque (background).
