Hi Robert,
I used Fuji GW 690II and GSW690III. I liked the rangefinder better on the II, on the III it seemed smaller and not so high contrast, but this might be sample variation. They are nice cameras but I found that I couldn't really get enough depth of field at handholding speeds so I changed to 645.

That is not true for Konica infrared, but may well be true for Kodak...

Hi Robert thanks for your suggestion.
The film I have used this summer was dated feb 2005 and has been fine. Konica IR is very slow so lasts better than Kodak perhaps would. I am aware of the Rollei film but I haven't tried it, perhaps the time has come!

Hello all, I apologise if this is inappropriate!
Does anybody have any supply of Konica IR750 120 film? I have only a few rolls
left and would be interested to buy more.
best wishes

I've just been on a trip to South america from London which involved four flights. I took all the film through as hand luggage including the return to London last week with no problem. Thus far the films I have developed (100, 400 and infrared) appear to be unaffected by xray. I have previously heard that transporting them in checked baggage can be a problem due to higher intensity xraying, but I have never seen any evidence of this!

Hi there,
There are some antique camera stores in San Telmo, Buenos Aires.
There are two on Defensa near Plaza Dorrega, it is best to go on Sunday when there is a big antiques fair there as well.
best wishes

Dear all,
at the end of July I will travel to South America from the UK. We plan to
spend a few days in Buenos Aires and then travel via Uruguay to the north of
Argentina particularly around Salta and then perhaps travel into Chile or
Bolivia.
I am open to all suggestions about which may be good photographic locations in
this area. I'm mainly interested in black and white landscape photography and
infrared, also architecture and street photography.
Also if anyone has any general suggestions about travel in these countries
that would be very useful.
Buenos dias!

Hello all,
I have a D70 and find the viewfinder very small, especially for manual focus
lenses.
I have never looked through a D100 or D200 viewfinder can anybody comment on
the viewfinders of these cameras compared to the D70
Thanks

Using the clouds is OK if you are not in Scotland, where very often they are less than 200m away!

Plaubel will repair it in Gemany.

Hello, how can one find out the shutter count?

I agree with chauncey, I had this problem and eliminated it by replacing the foam at the catch. I put a really thick piece in so some pressure was required to close the door. This has worked well.

I have a Horseman 985 and I am using the modern Horseman 6x9 backs produced at the time of VHR. The older horseman backs from 980 985 etc have an additional locating lug but really this makes very little difference. I think that rangefinder cams are fully interchangeable as well, this can require adjustment of infinity stops but that is quite easy.
I would like to upgrade to VH or VHR as well, I think the revolving back is more useful than a rangefinder on this type of camera. One item whch is really useful is the angle viewer.

Look at the frame numbers and writing on the edges of the film. If these are nice and black the film is well developed, if they are light grey it is underdeveloped.
-
Remember that depth of field is much smaller in medium format. Thats my advice.

I have a Yashica electro 35 gt - it doesn't make a kerplunk sound but it works fine!
