35 is the classic street glass. I recently bought an old one myself and just started using it ...

Street market - full frame, plenty of DOF.

Looks good - that church picks out very well, and the hopscotch is a cool shot.

You can hold a filter by hand but it's not terribly efficient. The Cokin filters have special holders that you'd need to buy. OTOH, if you know, or can measure, the filter thread on your lens you can often get second hand screw-fit round filters - much easier most of the time. The orange G, or red 25A (strong) are commonly used for dramatic skyscapes.

Chris, how much do you think detail of people will figure in your street work, 28 might be too wide. The 28 is often the cheaper option but a 35 might be better suited for groups and individuals. For architectural and area shots a 24 is very good. Personally I have a Pentax 28 and hardly use it (neither close enough nor wide enough) but if budget dictates one lens only, then it's a fair compromise.

Nice fog, good fog.

Stupendous reportage, Andrea. I'm suspicious though, that this was just another 'found' film ...

Just in case you haven't seen it, there's a nice website on the range here ...

Yup - very nice shot. More?

If you have photos in a folder here, you can paste the link into your text as follows:
just replace the 0000000 with the ID number of your image.
Otherwise, post comments after your question. 1 image for each.

That sounds like quite a lot of money for cardboard and black tape. As for the movements not being precision, do you mean that the adjustments are clunky, or that the parts are not rigid when they should be 'tight'?
I spent around $150 on materials when I built a 4x5 - that was for cherrywood, brass, and fittings.

Bellows and lenses extra.

You should defiinitely look over these two sites:
and

You don't mention your budget, but the range of prices among K mount lenses is considerable. For myself, I use a 43mm Limited mostly on my MX, with other lenses on other cameras.

A very apt title! I look forward to seeing the site.

Csab' ... I'd guess that would fit on a 6.5x9 Voigtlander Vag. I have one with a 105mm 4.5 Skopar and it's a great little thing. There are a couple of shots in my folders like this, for example:
taken with the RB67 RFH.

Try here: The Camera House It's a UK company I've bought from several times (no relation) and they list several plate cameras. I'm thinking that finding a junk plate camera rather than a later folder might be cheaper, and it certainly pulls some looks ... If you want some original Vag bellows that need repair (a few pinholes and thin bits) click for my email.

I haven't stitched a panoramic for ages, but I'd suggest a good spirit level (not the button type) to check your pod both ways.

Holy Carp !*!

Lester, you could have entitled it "kids who have good role models". Btw, I like the shoes!

Now I'm holding my breath as a Praktica FX-2 drifts across the bay towards my house. I just love chimneys.
-
Todd, my advice would be to religiously avoid taking photos that might possibly be nicked by unscrupulous publishers of inspirational calendars. That "silver lining" would be too tempting for them.

Highly provocative, but this week's money is already spent. (How many ALPAs on that shelf?)
-
Like the veg shots you got there (and the gladioli) but overall nice coverage.
-
Craig, you're going to have to map out two weeks putting a webpage together for this project! That will be some presentation.

Yeah, well, my first thought after paying $25 for a third year was - I needn't have bothered, the ads can support the site instead. But now they've stopped, so all is well.

My second thought was that if this was a trial-run, a little note of advance warning would have generated some polite, quality feedback.

Keeping my third thought to myself, though it included the phrase "pointy haired".
Wide angle - recommendations pls
